newvortex's blog

I know this has been put up many times by other Codeforces users, but I need to write this blog using some proofs that there are many cheaters that use ChatGPT during contest. Old Codeforces users can see that number of Div2 C and D submissions have been increased post AI boom.

Now let's discuss about the last round i.e. Codeforces Round 1101(div 2). I figured out that there are many users that simply put question in the prompt and write the code provided by GPT. For example, let's take the Div 2-C1 Seating Arrangement (Easy version). I couldn't solve the question, so I was checking some solutions of other users and figured out that many of them has exact same solution for this problem. Then I went to chatGPT and pasted the question. Guess what, it gave me exact same solution.

You can see that these users — (krish_patel20, Bugs_Bunni, InvernoFrio, maverick_kb) have the same solution for C1 and if you use the AI model, you will get the same exact solution for this problem.

Submissions — 376670029, 376674270, 376664822, 376664639.

I want to ask these users that what you get ruining others hardwork and what you will do with your rank which you achieved by cheating.

The funny part is that the "exact same solution" apparently means using DP. If that's the standard now, then half of Codeforces has been cheating for years.

Also, if someone really needs AI to solve C1 but somehow doesn't use it for C2, I think the issue isn't programming — they probably need a math teacher before a programming coach.

And as a friendly piece of advice: spend less time investigating other people's submissions and more time improving your own. Codeforces rating is a useful metric, but it's definitely not the ultimate proof of how smart someone is.

Is your "smoking gun" that three of them use ndp = dp? If you're going to accuse people, please at least go into detail about what it is which makes you so sure the accused are cheating.

The amount of posts related to AI that have been showing up nonstop for months has gotten so tiring and is quite demotivating. I wish the community could go back to primarily posting insightful blog posts which induce learning/improving instead of nonstop posts either about AI or which are very clearly AI generated (namely the ones giving surface level, often not fully correct, knowledge that has been posted hundreds of times before on accounts with no other posts and not much of a contest history).

Ah yes, the classic similar solution = cheating.

I suggest looking into problem A's solutions, i bet you would find a lot of cheaters there.

next time, try putting a problem that you've solved on your own to some LLM and i bet, many times you'll realize that you are a cheater (by your logic).
