CodeChef cheating beyond acceptance, account blocked

Hi everyone,

Sorry for posting this out of context post here. But today I busted a youtube channel spreading telegram link with contest problem solution during live contest, after I noticed an unimaginable change in number of AC solutions. I raised the issue in CodeChef discuss before contest end with the proof(I know that it's against their terms) hoping they will make contest unrated, but they blocked my account. The account suspension is not my concern as I'm anyway not going to participate there anymore. Just felt a bit sad that they have no interest in taking a strong measure against cheating, so posting it here.

when i was giving contest no one could solve maxlcs before(i mean only about 80 submissions) and all of a sudden there were more than 1600 accepted i was just amazed.

My take on this would be to participate in Codechef contests irrespective of rating (because they won't even be credible anymore). The only motive should be solving as many problems as possible since we can't stop this. Participate in Codeforces and AtCoder as much as you can.

These cheaters are never gonna change though. Like codechef will ban some users or disqualify some of them, but can't remove all the cheaters!

Only positive thing that I take from this is that we should try to climb up the div2 ladder as soon as possible, reason being that there are less cheatings in div1.

Leave codechef/ignore indian cheaters/if you can't beat them, join them(become a cheater)

I read your post yesterday on CodeChef. Here are a few things that I want to point out.

  1. Before blocking your account, the CodeChef Admin commented on your post that sharing the youtube video before the contest ends also promotes cheating.
  2. We all agree that codeforces is way better than codechef. But at least codechef is trying to improve. Earlier it would take months for them to remove cheaters. But now they have remove the cheaters within 15-20 days after a contest ends. They have improved (a little). You can think of it as that codeforces is Ussain Bolt and codechef is some fat guy ( don't take it personally). Asking a fat guy to beat Ussain Bolt in a sprint is no joke. He needs to train and improve, before it can reach that level.
  3. Lastly, you can think of it as a challenge. You have to solve the problems quicker than those who leak solutions. If you can beat that guy, you will also beat the 1k+ users that made submissions after seeing their solution.

Do codechef raiting has any use? If so, I would like to know, else just don't waste you time on catching others, just train and perform even better than cheaters for example. Anyway CP is all about outperforming yourself and having fun.
