I don’t get why rollbacks aren’t an everyday thing. It’s just an O(N), where N is a number of users ~1e6 — that would take something like 0.005 seconds on a single core.

Maybe because some cheater has already participated in 5 rounds, and if do a rollback every round, then his rating for the previous 4 rounds will not be returned. It just my guess
You also need to take into account uphacking
I think it’s somehow related to the API issues, because it’s also been down for about 9 days. Even the Carrot extension isn't working lol

In other platform, there's a reason why rollback is not everyday, it seems waved bans makes it harder for cheaters to understand where they get caught.
I don't know whether CF has the same reasoning or not.

I think one of the contests for which rollback happened, it would be nice to have it rolled back once again: https://codeforces.me/contest/2211. Current standings show my rank in the 8800s, but the rank on my profile shows 9100. If I my memory serves me correctly it was -65 before rollback and -63 after. But pretty sure it would change slightly after a re-rollback for this contest.
Round 1088 still didn't roll back. Hope rollback fast.
Suggestion :- Sm1 can make an extension that predicts rating after rollbacks !!
