CowBLjh's blog

[user:CowBLjh]I'm a beginner, and I feel like I'm not very good at this. I don't think I have a natural talent for competitive programming, and I'm not sure how to improve myself. Do you really need to be very talented to compete in algorithmic contests? I often struggle with constructive problems and thinking problems—I have no idea how others come up with the solutions, and I can't figure them out even after thinking for a long time. There are also greedy algorithms; I can't even think of how to approach them, let alone prove the correctness of the greedy strategies. I've asked many experienced people for advice, and they all tell me to practice more, but I still feel like there are many areas where I don't know how to improve. I'd like to hear some advice from the experts. Please give this noob some suggestions!

Being a Chinese how can you say that you are not talented. See the top 10 coders most of them are Chinese. That's definitely within you dude.

I am also new to this platform, but what I have observed till now, that If you don't know anything about a problem, then try to create a simple cases for it at low constrains like when n=1,2,3 etc and came up with some generalized observation. I use to do the same in contests, sometime this indeed works (but most of time not :( ), may be its because I haven't practiced a lot. But yeah this a way most of people came up with solution.

As far as I know this strategy is applicable at least till 1300 rated question (I might be wrong here)

Thanks for telling and share your good opinion ! Most of time ,I find myself too hard to notice the shortcut for the problem . And solve the problem rely on guessing and experence . Thougth I AC ,I can not strictly to prove my theory .To be frank you method on it is what I had ever try and I am the same situation with you .
