I've been wondering for soo long about this. Some people get -ve delta after skipped contest while some get " — " (unrated) shown in their contests list. Why is that so ?

Thanks!

Hey buddy, please focus on problem solving if you are here, don't post useless Blogs. Because of these posts nowadays i am missing many good Blogs which used to come in my feed.

Edit: In case people who are upset with my above comment just go to his profile and see all his blogs (and his contribution too).

Also many newcomers are posting blogs which is not relevant to post on this platform. Ex:
https://codeforces.me/blog/entry/132098
https://codeforces.me/blog/entry/132101
and there was a guy who was new to the platform so he posted his first blog writing a c++ code printing "Hello world" in it.

for the 1st 2 skipped contests you will get unrated for the contest and after that you will get -ve delta because of skipped solutions. idk what is the actual reason but i think its just to warn or maybe like in some cases people get skipped even though they have not cheated so to manage that maybe codeforces just make the contest unrated for them for the 1st 2 skipped contests. but still after 2 skips if someone continues to cheat it is most probable that they are cheating so then they will get -ve delta.

There are 2 kinds of skipped verdicts on codeforces. 1) Matching solutions with others. They are considered cheaters and get unrated. 2) If someone re-submitted accepted solutions in Div.1 or Div. 2, the first one got skipped. They may have got +ve or -ve delta. These persons also got skipped submissions not skipped contests.
