This was my First Contest (I m new in here). I solved 1000 points problem in my second attempt (on my first I missed a trivial edge case) but I got 698 points though at the end of the contest my solution was "Accepted" . Why wasnt I awarded full marks for the solution (I know I made a penalty of 50 points due to incorrect first attempt) . Was it only because of time that I was awarded 698 instead of 950 ? What are the factors on which the awarded marks depend upon ? (any link would also help :) ) |

With the segment trees ... each node will be having the range in sorted order .... but when there will be an update for an interval range ..like index 3 to index 5 have to be increased by an amount of 10 .. then whole of the segemnt trees has to updated ( just like the normal update procedure ) and again each node has to be sorted ... Would that be efficient ? |
