I noticed today by accident that opening Codeforces in HTTP does not result in HTTPS redirection. It'd be great if this can be fixed since Codeforces handles data like login credentials

It's a good idea :)
By the way, as a temporary workaround, you may use HTTPS Everywhere add-on to always ensure you're using the HTTPS version.
There is an option in settings to enforce https.
Thanks! But I don't understand why enforcing HTTPS needs to be an option
