Unusual Results During the Contest
During WorldQuant Round 1, one thing that caught my attention was the unusually high number of problems solved during the contest and the presence of several new or unrated accounts near the top of the standings. Some accounts with a rating of 0, no previous rating, or very few contest count achieved remarkably high positions.
Codeforces Cheat Detection and Its Actions
After the contest, many participants had their submissions marked as Skipped, while some others were banned.
When potential rule violations are identified, investigating them is essential to protecting honest contestants and maintaining the value of competitive programming results.
I appreciate the importance of Codeforces' efforts to detect cheating and enforce contest rules. The more effectively suspicious activity can be investigated, the harder it becomes for people to gain an unfair advantage over honest participants.
Some Accounts That Received Skipped Submissions or Were Banned
Some users whose submissions were skipped or who were banned:
- qtbd, hiiiii_101110, FarmerJohn
- annanaatif099, analyzeK, Harsh_Singhal_01
- NaoTomori0, JingZeWu, Joskmo
- ILPKN, phuchung3t, Gemini24
Blogs Requesting Account Restoration After the Contest
Following the contest, some participants published blogs asking for their accounts to be restored or requesting clarification about their disabled accounts and skipped submissions.
Honestly, even if you keep asking for your account to be restored, there is a very high chance that it won't be reopened. If your submissions were skipped or your account was disabled, there is a strong possibility that the administration found evidence of cheating or other rule violations.
Instead of repeatedly asking for your account back, you should accept the decision if you actually violated the rules and learn from your mistake.
A request to restore an account does not necessarily mean that the administration made a mistake. Codeforces' admins are not stupid.
A Message to Those Involved
To those whose accounts were restricted or whose submissions were skipped, especially those who are new to Codeforces or participated in very few contests, I would like to say something.
If you made a mistake and violated the contest rules, the best thing you can do is acknowledge it, learn from it, and move forward honestly.
Please understand that cheating does not just affect your own account. It also affects the people who spent time preparing for the contest and competing honestly.
Competitive programming should be about learning, improving, and solving problems through your own skills — not about gaining an unfair advantage.
I hope Codeforces continues improving its cheat-detection mechanisms and investigating suspicious contest activity effectively. I also hope that future contests will see fewer rule violations and that the number of people attempting to gain unfair advantages will decrease. (pls)
Thank you for reading.
(btw I used ChatGPT to help write this blog because my English is not very good. Thank you for understanding.)

It's pitiful to see >1900 rated users getting banned for cheating
They should understand the importance of fair competition better than anyone.
