Hi Codeforces!
I have a great announcement for you. This month, we're holding the second Codeforces Blitz Cup! Remember all the WA1s and CEs we've seen from LGMs stressing out to submit before the opponent? They are coming back!
The Codeforces Blitz Cup is a single-elimination personal tournament where matches follow the special Blitz Rules. In short, each match is a 40-minute PvP contest, where problems open one by one, and only the first AC counts. The players can't use any help or prewritten code except a small template, and we get to watch them think and code live.
Check out last year's final rounds streams: day 1, and the final day 2 to get the feel for the format.
- Eligibility: Grandmasters or above
- Registration deadline: February 12, 10:00 UTC
- Elimination rounds: February 13th to 26th (free schedule)
- Live finals: February 28 to March 1 (online)
See you blitzing!
UPD
And we know our finalists! Congratulations to __baozii__, 244mhq, Amoo_Safar, Dominater069, ecnerwala, errorgorn, feecIe6418, Geothermal, ksun48, makrav, Ormlis, qiuzx, SSerxhs, tourist, turmax, Um_nik, and see you all on the livestream!

Just to clarify, we have to free from 28 February to 1 March, but what period of time does this refer to specifically (starting from what time on 28th Feb and ending at what time on 1st March)?
You can refer to last year's schedule: /blog/entry/140425. We will likely group Saturday matches based on timezone; and we'll try to accomodate requests for Sunday matches timing.
pls press triangle botton. My contributors is very little.

Hello KAN I have sent a message to you in DMs Would it be possible to review my message ? Its very urgent. Thanks
hi
Would it be possible to add the feature for all codeforces users to create their own Blitz matches just like mashups? This format sounds really fun, and it would be nice if we could just challenge a friend or host our own tournaments in our groups/universities
Blitz matches are a great idea and a very cool feature for the whole community. However, I would like to point out that full-fledged blitz tournaments are much more interesting for all members of the community, regardless of the rating.
These can be single-elimination or double-elimination tournaments. It is possible to hold tournaments in a round-robin system. I would like to note that these formats can be combined — the tournament may consist of a group stage and a playoff stage.
I am absolutely confident that when the technical possibility of holding such tournaments is realized... They will be interesting to a huge number of people. I would like to note separately that these tournaments can be a great motivation for very novice programmers.
I know one really good service for this, check it out https://olymp.blitz.com
Remember John Pork? This is him now. Feel old yet?
I bet 1500 doubloons on Geothermal
alireza_kaviani will win Codeforces Blitz Cup 2026!
Can you please publish the rules?
Can someone explain what is the contest format ?
You could take a look at last year's blitz: https://codeforces.me/blog/entry/140371
Justice for Golovanov399
Only masters can register? Or legendary grandmasters. I think blitz cup is very good contest because this contest give we many motivation. Thank you codeforces!
Will jiangly and Dominater069 participate in this?
Newbies deserve better
Waiting for tourist vs. conqueror_of_tourist...
That happened last year
Less than 24 hours remain to register! Also, we've published more detailed rules.
What will happen if a match results in a tie, example: No one solved a single problem
That will not happen bro. GMs(or above) are good, they always solve A
You think GMs are newbies like us huh ??
if both players cant even solve the first one it is better to remove both of them
According to last year's rule, you made sure that the problems selected for each match have not been seen by either of the players.
What happens if maspy is in the tournament?
The reason for the question is because maspy has only ~100 problems left on CF that he has not solved.
Bro, he has solved more than 11000 problems, how can he remember all? And he can't open his files while recording.
You must be fun at parties.
This is awesome
I know one really good service for this, check it out https://olymp.blitz.com
How to view the schedule?
As a participant, I inputted the bracket here: https://challonge.com/1p4x3m5g
I'll keep updating it from time to time (ideally more than twice a day) so everyone here can be kept up to date with the matches/results.
Also there is a prediction feature so feel free to submit your predictions for the cup :)
Edit: KAN made an official bracket
where can we see the full schedule?
link
Looking Forward for it ;) !
what happened with the tourist vs awoo match? Codeforces was down during that time
it not showing in bracket as well..who is winner?
i think it was rescheduled until another time and they are still deciding when to have the match
SIX SEVEEEEEN
Congrats Dominater069 on making to top 16
Next round between 2 top contributors Dominater069 vs Um_nik
CodeForces don't open the O2 optimize for C/C++ language?
Can we submit the problems (gym)?
Is there a link where I can view the problems that appear in a match. I wanted to try out solving them for fun and see my speed for comparison. Simply, searching for the problem name does not work always for the really old problems.
。
I am not able to submit any problem. Why? Neither i can post blog about that.
how to participate gyus?
