Has anyone ever been stuck in a problem and doesn't know anyone to ask ? like you feel completely helpless and there is nothing you could do about that. what did you do to overcome that?. maybe this is the other side of being a self-learner :)

This might be kind of unrelated to Competitive Programming. I'm now currently in 6th semester and majoring in Information and System Technology. For those who don't know, Information and System Technology learns different thing Comp. Sci as it learns more about the business and organization side. I've been doing competitive programming for 2 years. I don't know which one to choose ( whether to pursue the business side or software engineering side ). Any advices ?
