Hello Codeforces! Recently, there was a blog about the relationship between IQ and Codeforces rating. And this blog inspired me to do a similar thing for typing speed.
Unfortunately, I don't have any fancy research paper that proves the relationship between WPM and CF rating. To have an idea about it, I created this blog. When I reach about 50 responses, I'll post what I come up with.
To take part in this, you need to take a 30 second English word typing test from MonkeyType. Further instructions are included in the form. As a note, I know that taking the test with punctuation and longer time may differ in WPM by a lot. But, to not bore you and take your time, I concluded that selecting the test only as 30 seconds and only with words would be better.

And what about non-English speakers?
For me, it is harder to type English words than words in my native language.
That's why the results will not be so precise.
I think you're right. For some layouts and some languages, the typing can differ and become harder or easier. But to have comparable data, I thought we should agree on a common language. This also applies to punctuation and quotes rather than words. Therefore I chose English, I don't know about the statistics, but I can see that most of CF uses English.
I think you should consider only results of English speakers.
I don't think we need that. Maybe it'd be a good idea to have another option as "Are you fluent in English?". But it's too late to change it. Also, you might see that the MonkeyType 30-second test uses the most common words in English. In the end, it should be fine.
I'd be happy to listen about any other ideas that can be applicable, though.

What is "consistency" here?
I guess it's how consistent your speed was while typing.
I think that the lower the rating is, the stronger the relation.
I'm guessing absolutely no correlation. What's the point of typing fast if you can't solve the problem? Also I think there's a certain threshold on how fast you can type while actually thinking about what you are typing, instead of just copying words from a screen.

I think it's best to send screenshots of the results and post it here in the comments. That way, there is a lower chance that people are faking their results and using other people's profiles.
