I was wondering, where did this coloring scheme for rank and ratings come from.
Almost all OJs i know, follow the same color gradient which goes from
Dark, Green, Blue, Orange, Red
(and some variations like cyan)
This is used by all popular OJs like Codeforces, Codechef, Topcoder, Atcoder.
Does this coloring has some meaning as well, because all websites are using it.
MMORPG gear colors? Lame guess but the colors seem very consistent with MMORPG game gear colors.

power rangers...
CM == PINK :3 RIP you too
I don't care about the other colors but I don't like CM's purple color as much as I like yellow-orange and deep blue.
If you don't like a color, change it.
I hope you will be able to change your colour to yellow-orange very soon :)
TopCoder is much older than the other online judges mentioned (at least 8 years older than codeforces/codechef), and they had a well-established color system, so it made sense for other judges to keep the order of colors the same to not confuse people too much.
