Don't worry man. Even if you didn't attempt any question, your rating won't be affected.
It is fairly painful to unregister. You have to search your username in the registrants table. There, next to your name, you can find the unregister button.
If you do not submit anything your rating will not change (This is the easier solution).
You can simply go to registered friends tab instead, your name will be shown there too.

Before the contest, in the registered tab, there's a warning at the top of the page where it says you are registered unrated. Click Change to Rated there.
