Hi, I have been coding since 9th std of school,5 years back , in both Java and C++.I know kind of till Queues,Linked Lists and Trees as per my my academic requirements.Recently after joining college I started coding on Hackerrank and I was able to solve the questions one at a time , understanding new concepts. But when I took part in the Google Code Jam and Kickstart 2020,let alone solve,I couldn't even think of an approach for more than one question, and ended solving only 1 or 2 sub-parts with small test case constraints. That's where I found Errichto on youtube and he introduced me to Code Forces and since then I've been practicing more, getting sucked into this void of knowledge in competitive programming. The Problem I am still facing is even if I think of an approach or deduce the Data Structure required ,I am unable to design it effectively within time to compete. Thus end up solving only among the questions A,B in contests. I want to get better at this. Therefore I request suggestions on what method should I use to learn effectively in a elaborate way rather than "Just Keep Practicing" which I am already trying(maybe in an inefficient way). Thanks and have a good day.

That's because Data Structures is not the key ingredient for solving div 2 A and B. The key is, common sense, experience and creativity. Now, what can help you to build this? Do more ad hoc problems and learn basic theory on subjects like math and geometry.
