I have always been an admirer of the problems of Timus. However, it has always fallen back on my priority list due to the lack of contests. I was quite delighted to find out that Timus is finally conducting a contest again. I am announcing it here to increase awareness and so that it serves as a reminder.
- This is an Online version of the Ural Regional School Programming Contest 2019
- The contest will be $$$5$$$ hours long.
- It will be conducted on October $$$27$$$ th at $$$19:30$$$ IST
- I am not aware if it is rated or if Timus even has ratings
Best of Luck and let us discuss problems here after the contest !
UPDATE — The Contest is tomorrow !
it has always fallen back on my priority list due to the lack of contests
Lol. Solving 2 problems in the first hour and staring at the screen for the next hour not knowing what to do. How enjoyable is that?
I was quite delighted to find out that Timus is finally conducting a contest.
Well. You certainly are not an observant person. See this.
I did not know that they had conducted $$$3$$$ other contests in this year as I had not seen an announcement anywhere. (As you can see, there was only $$$1$$$ contest in a $$$5$$$ year period). Moreover, I am extremely busy with a full time job and don't have much time to track every website. I had found this by accident and so posted a thread here to increase awareness.
At codeforces even a noob know 50+ online judges but everyone doesn't use everything. So don't post site names here. It feels like you have a lot of free time even after a Full time job.
It would have been better if you create awareness about CP in Indian schools and colleges. That is much needed. Not here in codeforces. Kuch samjhe ?
I don't understand the point or purpose of your comment or your 'feelings' about my time. Even though Lance is quite harsh, his points still make some vague sense. Sometimes it is even constructive.
I just posted a thread here to create awareness about the upcoming contest. I don't see what is the connection with Indian schools and colleges.
Moreover, I also don't understand your angst. If you don't want to participate, then don't participate.
And, don't talk to me in Hindi.
I am saying that if you really want to do some social work, do it for those where the need is more. Create awareness about CP in indians schools if you really want to create cp awareness. Or are you just want to increase your contribution.
Hey, while I appreciate your comment, I do not see the link in between my post and social work. I have helped out at some animal shelters and done volunteer work at times.
I didn't know Timus was conducting contests and this post is intended to let more people know that Timus is conducting a contest. If you do not want to participate, then nobody is forcing you :)
As far as creating awareness is concerned, I do write some posts on social media sometimes about competitive programming and it does reach a lay audience. However, I never claimed that my goal is to spread awareness in all schools, nor is that my goal.
Lastly, I'm not a teenager and don't obsess about the number of upvotes a certain comment gets or what my 'contribution' is.
I just posted this thread to create more awareness about Timus' upcoming contest. I humbly request you to take the announcement in a positive way. If you want, you can even share the announcement with your friends or siblings in school.
ok.
It would have been better if you can stfu.
