Problem is here:

If you don't sleep enough time, your brain won't work very good.

But if you will sleep, you will have less time for studying.

Can anyone say something about that?

Ternary search and find the optimal amount of time you need to sleep. ;)

I usually sleep 10 hours (sometimes even longer), but this didn't stop me from becoming who I am. BTW, most people I know sleep 7 hours or so.

If you want to reduce your sleep time, then do it gradually, not all of a sudden. Say, you sleep 10 hours now. Sleep for 9.5 hours for 1 week(your body will get used to it) 9 hrs next week, 8.5 the next one, and 8 the next.

If you want to sleep less than 8 hours, then in order for the change to be permanent, it needs to be more gradual(2-3 weeks).

At any rate, sleep for 7 hours minimum, since conpetitive coding requires your brain to be fresh and healthy, and not tired.

I think everyone needs a different amount of sleep...

because you can find a person who sleeps 5 hours a day and he is wide awake. From the other hand, you find another person who sleeps 8 hours a day and he feels sleepy and tired all over the time!

For me,I sleep about 7 hours a day and I find it enough.

Finally,I find the amount of sleep is related to the person himself and the consumed energy.

I think tiredness doesn't depend on sleeping a lot...

Sometimes I sleep too little but I do lots of funny works tomorrow and I'm not tired at all...

But sometimes I sleep a lot but I'm sleepy the next they too and don't like to do anything...

But it would be effective in long term...But still no problem at all for me ;)

There's a nice infographic about sleep. The particularly interesting fragment is "How much sleep the pros get".

I have no idea what kind of drugs Tiger Woods takes ;)
