Have anyone thought of making Div 2 contests rated for violet users (or perhaps a fraction of yellow users as well)? Basically, they will get a chance to compete in both D2 and D1 contests (though in D2 they will be separated from everyone else)? Looking at a couple of the most recent D2 contests, it appears that most of violet users actually solve 3 problems or less (in a 5 problem contest), which means it will still be a good competition for them. The only problem I can see with this is that you can become yellow without participating in a single D1 contest, but this doesn't seem to be so horrible if more people can write more contests as official participants.

I think it's better that violet users can choose that this contest is rated for them or not before the contest starts.
Sometimes, I'm not in a mood to enter a ranked contest but still want to enter the contest in realtime, that's why I think this is an awesome idea!
In my opinion, better idea is move up the rating for Div-1. Then all violets will compete in Div-2 contest. Or not all, but most of them.
I cant agree with you. The most of violets can solve at least first problem in Div-1.
I would like to let the violets participate officially in Div-2-only contests.
If the violet can solve more than first problem — he will be orange in near future. Otherwise he won't increase his rating much greater. And IMHO better is solve more problems in Div-2, than solve nothing in Div-1
I think it is alright as it is, it is harder to become a yellow from purple if all the purples compete with Div 1 contestants, that way becoming a Master will feel rewarding.
I think that there are people who have become purple not fair) So they asked some of the participants that they would have sent them your code and then they changed the code a bit and sent for himself that would raise his rating in CF)
