    I had my suspicions about his performances in recent Repovive contests, and there were a few signs, but they were too inconclusive to justify a ban. You can’t ban someone based on evidence that leaves you 50/50. He also won a gold medal at IOI 2026. I’m not sure how we should handle cases like this. Requiring screencasts might help, but people could still cheat while recording. At best, it would make blatant copying and pasting easier to catch.

      This is really same story as in chess and it's kind of disgusting it is like this. At this point the threshold between losing 100 points and getting 100 points is just the butt plug giving you a hint that the problem is solvable in a particular way. Screencast solves literally nothing, just having some AI automation give you tags of the problem (i.e. this problem is solvable with BFS + dijkstra) on a second laptop that's invisible on the screencast is insane amount of help to high level competitors that won't allow you to detect it anyhow

      There is virtually no solution to this at the high level. At lower levels it is detectable via "expected performance doesn't match the reality", but there's nothing you can do for online apart from asking for community to keep the integrity of the competition, I'd argue that trying to do anything over that would be just harmful to the community as a whole.

such a rise in the last four contests ? I mean when someone at a low level cheats the curve looks exactly like this one. I am not saying that he cheated but the curve is very very suspicious. It is like today I am a newbie and by the next four contests I became an expert. That is very very very rare. Also today's solve of F was very suspicious. Nobody was able to solve except for him. So yeah that says a lot (again not saying with certainty that he cheated)

      bro i am talking after the ai apocalypse. of course there are many people especially famous lgms (example tourist, jiangly and many more) who had a steady rise. but in today a rise like that? that too in less than one month? come on you know what I am talking about. when something just does not seem right people can understand it bro. maybe not like those brain rot llm users but you definitely cooked something that any sensible person can tell.

Congrats! The plot indeed seems confusing, but imho he didn't cheat. Random thoughts:

  • cases like this happen occasionally (eg Linsanity)
  • I know him quite well as an honest person, and he has the personality of always underperforming, which magnifies the effect. You all know that friend who never does well under pressure, but is incredibly smart -- that is k1r1t0. Honestly, he should've gotten that LGM title way earlier.
  • I hope he won't let the hate disturb him. A problem with most solutions like "do the next round on camera" is that the exact reason he might fail is the pressure he has. I hope he won't and this experience will make him stronger, but that is a possibility.
  • this might be a complex case forever, and you're never sure what in one's mind ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Can_See_Everything ), but knowing him, he's a normal dude who finally happened to control his emotions... and got a little lucky :)
  • just look at his grind in the last month!

theoretically, if you participate in div $$$1s$$$ in $$$2026$$$, the cheating is so rampant that cheating just a little bit would make your rating a bit more true to your ability than not cheating at all. and anyone can look at this guy's graph and see that he (very likely) didn't cheat up until these past $$$3$$$ contests, so he had already banked a lot of "cheating just a little each contest", and he just spent most, maybe even all of it these past $$$3$$$ contests. so this should really only be a problem if he continues to have similar performances going forward.
