Hi everyone,

I'm a first-year CSE student from Bangladesh. I joined Codeforces 2 months ago with 0 rating, and I wanted to share my progress so far.

Current stats: Rating: 1006 Problems solved: 66 Longest streak: 19 days Contests: 6

What helped me:

  1. Solving at least one problem every day, even when I didn't feel like it.

  2. Starting with 800-rated problems.

  3. Not reading the editorial too early.

My struggle: My first contest was my best, with 3 problems solved. Since then I mostly solve only 1 problem per round, and I can't figure out how to get to B.

Question: What helped you get past 1000? Any advice would help a lot, thanks!

I think you need to learn new algorithms like binary search, two points, math... Solve 800 900 problems didn't help you to much. Solve problem with topic will be better. If you need roadmap you cant use Marisaoj. Its Vietnamese OJ and i think it have good roadmap for you.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll start learning binary search and two pointers first, and I'll check out Marisaoj for the roadmap. Do you recommend doing topic-wise problems at 1000-1200 rating?
