Practice makes perfect.
practice practice practice
There are no secret tricks to doing CP. Frequent consistent practice of problems that are at the right level (you can use a generator like training tracker to pick them our for you) is the only way to improve. In the long run it is also useful to practice some therory (but only when supported by frequent practice), usaco guide provides a nice framework for working though this.
