Looking for contests to host — we'll adapt our judge to your problems

Hello, Codeforces!

Some of you may remember DOJ, the questionable AI-slop online judge we introduced here a few weeks ago.

This time, we're not here to introduce the judge again.

We're looking for contests.

If you have a contest you'd like to host — whether you're an individual problem setter, a school, a university club, or an online competitive programming community — we'd be happy to host it on DOJ.

And since DOJ is still a relatively young online judge, we can offer something that larger and more established platforms usually can't:

we can be unusually flexible.

The judge should adapt to the problem

Normally, when an online judge doesn't support something, the problem has to be changed to fit the judge.

We'd like to try the opposite.

If a good problem requires something DOJ cannot currently do, we may change DOJ for the problem.

A different scoring method?

An unusual judging system?

A strange contest format?

Some feature that only makes sense for one specific problem?

Tell us.

We cannot promise that every request will be possible, of course.

But if the idea is interesting and technically reasonable, we're genuinely willing to modify or extend the judge for it.

DOJ is still early enough that the contests hosted on it can actually influence how the platform itself develops.

We think that's fun.

Who can host a contest?

Pretty much anyone.

You can contact us if you're:

• an individual problem setter;
• a school or university;
• a competitive programming club;
• a local programming community;
• a Discord/online community;
• a small group of friends who made a problem set;
• an existing onsite contest that wants an online round.

It doesn't have to be a huge or prestigious contest.

It also doesn't matter if this is your first time organizing one.

If you have good problems, we'd like to help you run them.

We'll actively help with the contest

For our early international contests, we don't want to just hand organizers an admin page and disappear.

We can help with things such as:

• importing and configuring problems;
• contest setup;
• judging configuration;
• testing before the contest;
• unusual problem requirements;
• figuring out features that DOJ doesn't support yet.

If your problems are already prepared using Polygon, even better.

If they're not, that's also fine — talk to us and we'll see what we can do.

Give us the weird problems

Honestly, we're especially interested in problems that are annoying to host on ordinary online judges.

If you've ever had an idea and thought:

"This would be cool, but the judge probably can't support it."

we want to hear about it.

Maybe DOJ can't support it either.

Yet.
