Hello CF community and MikeMirzayanov,

I’d like to propose a feature that I believe could significantly help users improve their problem-solving skills and long-term retention of concepts.

When we approach a problem, we typically :

1). Understand the underlying theory.

2). Attempt the problem.

3). If stuck, refer to editorials or friend's solutions.

4). Submit and get Accepted.

However, even after solving and getting AC, many of us have experienced this : When revisiting the same problem after a specific period, we struggle again. Why? Because we might have understood how the editorials or friend's solution works, but we didn’t reinforce the underlying logic enough to make it done.

Proposed Feature :

On every problem page, display a “Similar Problems” section — showing other problems with similar concepts or patterns, ideally with difficulty ±200–300 rating compared to the current problem.

Why this helps ?

1). Practicing multiple variations of a concept deepens understanding.

2). Bridges the gap between knowing the solution and being able to solve independently later.

3). Help users systematically strengthen weak areas.

4). Improve problem-solving retention rates.

I believe this could be implemented based on existing problem tags, editorial keywords, or even a similarity scoring algorithm based on past solutions and patterns.

Would love to hear the community’s thoughts on this!

I am not exactly sure how tags work on problems. Since reaching master, I have occasionally noticed edit permissions on them. Perhaps something similar could be used here.
