I've been grinding contests for a while, and I finally hit Expert!

I guess what always held me back was not staying consistent. That’s exactly what I’m planning to change now, staying focused and consistent is the goal moving forward.

Now I'm aiming to reach 1800, any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

listen to TWICE
I really did it once
Congratulations man !!
thanks

Start watching anime and stop calling it Chinese cartoon (and stop bullying me for it).
From today, you can call me L
lmao
give some advice to pupil to reach expert
Focus to reach specialist first, solve more problems in range 1400: 1500
okiee >.<
which extension are you using in which rating bars start from 1400 as the one i am using starts from 800 ?
This is a modification made by OmarMoBadr, I think it was not made in the official one but you can use it locally by unpacking the extension
Congratulations! Keep going
Thanks!
Congratulations MinValgen i am so happy today i also became expert
what can you recommend me to reach expert. Also your progress is really impressive.
Congratulations bro.
gamed
Thanks
respect
Thank you.
i WILLL hit expert this summer!
same here
I too need some guidance to be able to reach ther
I think you are doing well; you just need to practice more virtual contests.
also focus on: binary search (very important), two pointers, Number theory, Bits, DP, and Graph Theory basics.
Congrats man!!, I too am finally CM
Congratulations!
nice.
Can anyone give me some guide i am new on codeforces and want to learn and grow and reach 1500-1600.If anyone is reading my message please guide me i will follow there step and will increase my rating
solve hard problems for you, not easy
can you explain in detail please
I must say right away that I am not a master at this business. You can look at my schedule and see that my rating hasn't increased for three years, despite this, I continue to study. My main mistake is solving pleasant tasks for me and learning "pleasant" techniques(for last years). But you can see that I got a candidate of master pretty quickly (in one year). At this time I solved many old div3s and solved another site. Solving completely old div3 (and new ones too) is very unpleasant for a beginner, but they help in developing your skills. Solve problems and learn techniques that seem difficult to you, because this way your level of thinking increases.
Congratulations !!!
Thanks
Nice!
Thanks!
Can you also share what it took to reach Expert? What topics and how many questions per contests and how did you practice?
All I know:
the number of problems in the contest is dependable
Congratulations man!
Thanks
Solve a bunch of 1800-1900 problems, and when you reach 1900, solve a bunch of 2100-2300 problems (also make sure these problems are recent div2 problems because those are the most relavent and difficulty creep exists). Once you start consistently having time for/solving div2 Ds your rating should shoot up quickly to CM.
Thank you, man.
I need some help, too. I often have difficulty solving some 1400-1800 problems, or it takes a long time to solve.
for now, focus on range 1100: 1200
Congrats!
Thanks!
Congrats
Thanks!
Candidate Master when?
I think as I practice more heavy implementation problems, I'll do it soon.
Congradulations!!!
Thanks
give me also advise
In your last 11 contests, you just up solved 5 contests. try to up solve every contest and practice more on dp, graph and binary search.
Could you please give me some advice on how I can improve? I’m trying really hard, but I feel like I’m not getting the right guidance. I hope that with your experience, your advice will definitely help me. Thank you in advance.
For now, focus on solving problems in the 900–1200 difficulty range to build speed and confidence. At the same time, work on improving your understanding of STL and essential math topics such as summation formulas, matrices, number systems, GCD, and LCM.
Additionally, try to participate in virtual contests regularly and make sure to upsolve the problems afterward.
Congrats man! Huge milestone!! I noticed there was a lot of improvement last few contest, did you change training strategy or something?
he doesn't drink wine.....
I surely did not expect my profile picture to offend anyone in a site full of people with anime as their profile picture O.o
Thanks man, appreciate it!
Yeah actually, I didn't really change strategies much, just started doing more virtual contests and made a small but important tweak: I started giving Problem B more thought instead of rushing to submit it like 5 minutes after finishing A.
If you look closely, most of the poor performance comes from me submitting B way too early without thinking it through properly, which ends up causing unnecessary penalties and struggles later in the contest.
Congratulations, btw what extensions have you installed for cf?
thanks,

Nice work buddy, congratulations
Thanks!
congrats and i hope i can do it myself soon
Thanks! You’ll get there soon too
Can you help me out. I am a beginner for codeforces but I am not new to coding. I need some one experienced one or as like a mentor to guide me and give me some hints. I am hoping for your reply message.
Hope that my blog can help you.
Hello!
I wanted to get some feedback on whether I'm on the right track with my CP practice. I've been solving 1100 and 1200 rated problems on the Codeforces Problemset using filters. Whenever I come across a new concept, I take time to learn it—often from the USACO Guide—and then practice 4–5 similar problems to reinforce it. For example, I recently started working on binary search problems this way.
Despite this, my performance in contests hasn't improved as much as I'd hoped.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Try more 1300 ~ 1500. 1100 and 1200 problems are in your comfort-zone.
Yeah, that makes sense. But my current performance and rating still aren't quite at the 1200 level yet.
I’ll definitely try to push myself with some 1300–1500 problems though. Thanks a lot for your response!
Rating is not the reason that you can't challenge harder problems.
The score of problems is maybe based on the level of the user who passed them during the contest. Some problems maybe overestimated or underestimated because of the position or the duration.
Most of them, which are 1300 ~ 1500 problems, are not fundamentally different from these. They are probably greedy, binary or dp and so on. Try it.
Mentality is also important. If you think you can't solve 1500 because you are grey, you will lose before start to think. So trust yourself and you can do it. Come on!
Congrats and CM is waiting for you!
Thanks a lot!
Congratulations... And any suggestion or guidance? Thanks in advance
Thanks, just look at the previous comments
Congrats Brother! Any advice for me,how can I reach specialist as quickly as possible? Thanks in advance.
thanks, you are doing well, you just need to up solve and join more contests
How did you generate the graph in the third image?

congrats. and good luck, qwq!
Besides doing problems, reading some books and blogs is also important.
These time, you'd better do some self-check to find out what you really need, such as learning new algorithms or practicing more.
Good luck!
Thanks a lot! I’m actually already reading CPH and practicing on CSES. If you have any recommendations, I’d love to hear them.
If you have a very far goal for CP, I recommend to learn about ‘Concrete Mathematics: A Foundation for Computer Science’ to help you learn a lot about math. Maybe a little difficult but it's worth reading.
I'm sorry that I only know few about English documents. Maybe in this level, practicing is the most important things, so I suggest to VP EDU round at least once a week. It's useful(I do this to improve myself that time and improve very fast).
which extensions are you using?
Congrats on being an expert
Thanks

Give me some tips for becoming pupil.... Thank you in advance.....
tip 1 : stop asking for tips and make yourself uncomfortable daily with problems out of your barrier
tip 2 : read tip 1
congratulations bro
