I was looking at the standings of CodeTON Round 6 (Div. 1 + Div. 2, Rated, Prizes!), and I noticed this person submitted problems in reverse order and very fast, which made me very suspicious.

I investigated more and found out that he had one more account that also participated in the contest.

It was obvious they were the accounts of the same person because they had similar names and organizations and used exactly the same template in the past.

Then I started looking at the codes.

It was obvious that the codes submitted by TimaDegt were changed versions of the codes submitted by TimDee. He wanted to escape the plagiarism detector, and he was successful because his account didn't get skipped. However, the similarities are obvious. The codes of TimaDegt use the same defines and coding habits, like whitespaces and newlines.

However, this isn't a good enough proof. If it weren't for a mistake he made, he would've gotten away with it.

He submitted exactly the same code from both accounts, which proves he used both accounts in the contest.

I looked at other contests and found many more contests where he also used both accounts. They're also full of many "coincidences".

People wouldn't expect a high-rated person to cheat, but he did. He's also a medalist from IOI 2023 (Timur Degteari), which only makes things worse. I hope the 2 TON he earned from cheating was worth ruining his reputation. I also hope that Codeforces gets better at cheater detection.

I also hope that Codeforces gets better at cheater detection.

Actually, checking not only AC solutions, but also skipped solutions with passed pretests would have helped to catch him.

I agree. Codeforces should check every submission. That would have helped to catch him.

Codeforces don't do plag checks nowadays, you can check for last few contests. Even for the contests which they have done plag they have not changed ratings and leaderboard accordingly. MikeMirzayanov when will be having plag tests, so that cheating again can be controlled. This only motivates others to cheat.

If you're so good, why don't you write the code yourself and give it to Mike? I saw tens of those 'WhY iS pLaG tEsTs sO tRaSH, cHeAtErS eaSiLY gOt AwaY' comments every time I read the blog section. Plag checks aren't good enough doesn't mean that Mike didn't do a thing. Honestly, I'm tired of those comments. It's dumb.

I don't agree with you CheaterExposer. It's hard to gain money nowadays.

Earning 2 TON nowadays is like trying to find a unicorn wearing sunglasses, playing the accordion, on a unicycle, while juggling flaming tennis balls.

It's rarer than a four-leaf clover in a field of three-leaf clovers.

It's more elusive than that sock that always disappears in the laundry.

It's scarcer than Wi-Fi in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

It's harder to come by than a polite YouTube comment.

It's as difficult as finding Waldo in a crowd of one billion Wallys.

In conclusion, earning 2 TON today is basically like winning the lottery, except the prize is just enough to buy a fancy coffee and a donut.

Well, earning money is hard but what about the person ranked 1025 who lost 2 TON because of his actions?

haha, looks like even to this day people know me for that blog among others

Today I'll be kind and give you a prediction -- seems like you'll be staying around here, but the recent trend doesn't look too encouraging

It's been almost 3 weeks without any action against this cheater. It makes me sick to see people cheat without getting any consequences.

It's also bad for Codeforces since now it seems like you can get away with cheating if you're high-rated. I think everyone should get fair and equal treatment.

At least his codeforces profile should be banned I think. Other things are other topics.

I agree. TimDee is the 2nd submitter of that same code, which means it should get banned.

Honestly, I'm really surprised how he didn't get any punishment yet. This isn't his first offense, he escaped plagiarism detector many times.

It's too weird Mike didn't take an action on this and TimDee got away with it getting 5 tons as a prize!
