Team Serbia top 6 is:
The reason I posted top 6 is the fact that we don't know if SomethingNew will be able to compete for Serbia, and also we don't know if mat_v will be able to compete at all.
Good luck!
Prediction: wxhtzdy will get gold
UPD: top 4 will be able to compete
Good luck to you guys!
P/s: I am a little bit curious about why two of your top six guys might not be able to compete. I understand if you don't feel comfortable answering this question.
I suppose for SomethingNew it's because of his nationality. Many Russian families, including those of students who can qualify for international olympiads, left the country as the Ukraine war escalated, and there is an open question of which national team they should represent. (For this reason I also think Serbia, Armenia, Georgia, Israel, and other common destinations might have a surge in medals over the next years.)
I don't think this affects Isreal much. Israel has a training program that starts teaching fitting teenagers the essence of mathematical thinking and competitive programming as early as 8th grade, in order to pick the best of them to compete in their high school years. There are a lot of strong and experienced competitors there, so I don't think the the arrival of new competitors would affect the medals much, even though it would surely make the competition harder.
.
Well it's on Serbian committee to decide if SomethingNew will be able to compete because of his nationality. And mat_v had some obligations at the time I was writing the comment, but as far as I know, he doesn't have them anymore, and he will be able to compete, that is if he ends up in top 4.
If he ends up not going to IOI I'll be really surprised. Like why did Serbia decide to let SomethingNew participate in TST and end up in top4 and eligible for IOI just to not accept him into the IOI team?
Because it has not been decided yet, those who organize the training camp do not have the final say, and it's better to let him compete just in case he's eligible?
This is not the first time such a decision is made, nor will it be the last. The most famous case is probably tmwilliamlin168, who, despite being a Taiwanese citizen, was disallowed to compete by Taiwan and went on to win IOI with team USA.
The committee decided, Ilya will be able to compete, which means Serbia will get 2 golds ;)
why?
SomethingNew will win IOI2023!
And IOI2024 ;)
Spain's IOI team is:
Innokentiy Kaurov (ikaurov) — 0 attempts left

Italy:
If I remember correctly, Italy's TST consists of around 8-10 contests right? I don't think there is any other country with that much contests :)
Yes, this year there were 8 contests. They are a good way to practice, but they are easy-ish compared to IOI level.
Actually, Israel trains a group of around fifty teenagers for the entire year and then pickes the best programmers from this group to compete internationally. I believe it sums up to more than twenty contests.
True, most of them are just not opened to the public but it does sum up to more than 20 contests
Slovakia IOI TST had 11 contests this year (2 contests on average TST day). I think it was a good idea because the luck factor was minimised which led to overall more comfortable and causal atmosphere during TST, Also the participants got to know each other better :)
Well as a guy whose country has like two TST days (APIO is actually the third TST day for us as the score to determine top 4 will be (TST score) + (APIO score)), I totally agree about the luck factor part. Mental strength also played a great part. On the other hand, IOI consists of only 2 days, so this format of TST actually teach us to always be focus mentally and not missing out on any opportunity, as there are not many of them.
Unfortunately, franfill and lorenzoferrari can't compete because they must take part to a university admission test the same day :(

Go UK!! I'll try to get in next year ;))
is codeforces the first taste of competetive programming you have had? Because I have never seen someone get to expert that quick
I've been doing programming casually for around 2 years, working on small projects like websites and stuff. I only started actually learning competitive programming in around March, and I wish I had gotten into it sooner because it's really fun!
im in the uk too and want to know if i will see you competing in the BOI. How many attempts do you have left?
I've got 1 attempt left :P but I will be competing next year, you can add me on discord if you want and we can talk some more :) my username is myst06
Good luck! I can see that you have a bronze in 2021 and a silver in 2022 already, so there is only one goal left I think :).
You guessed it! I'll try my best. If it works I can say that was my plan all along...
