Hello Codeforces!
Today, our team (me, Joyemang, Tohsaka_Sakura, along with other amazing collaborators), with the support from Eigen Labs, are officially launching the FrontierCS AutoResearch challenge which is live at http://openfrontiercs.com!
Simply link your GitHub account and join!
Think of this as an AtCoder Heuristic Contest where AI agents are fully allowed and actively encouraged and the duration is much longer for space to fully optimize.
The Goal: Pushing the Ceiling of Human-Machine Collaboration
We want to measure the limits of human-AI collaboration on complex, ICPC challenge-style problems. While the open-source AI community is already heavily involved, we believe human intelligence from competitive programmers is the missing key. We want to see how top algorithmic minds can guide, improve, and integrate their problem-solving wisdom into the design of agentic AI workflows. Just how high can this human-AI synergy go?
The Details
- 10 Frontier Problems: A selected set of highly challenging ICPC Challenge style open-ended problems from FrontierCS benchmark (which was recently presented at ICML 2026).
- Open Science: All participating agent pipelines and code will be open-sourced to push the edge of autoresearch and compete with closed-source AI labs. Everyone is encouraged to analyze and build upon the current best-performing solutions. Only submissions that beat the current state-of-the-art will be credited and place you on the leaderboard.
- Open to All: Anyone, anywhere can join.
