Has anyone else noticed the quiet tragedy unfolding in recent rounds? For years, Alice and Bob stood as equals. Every game theory problem ended with the sacred question: "Print Alice if Alice wins, and Bob otherwise." Lately, however, a dark trend has taken over. Authors aren't even asking who wins anymore—they just ask: "Print YES if Alice wins, and NO otherwise."

Think about how much Bob has already sacrificed for this community. For over a decade, Alice has been given the first move in almost every single game, and Bob accepted playing second without a single complaint. He endured countless rigged games where the optimal strategy simply reduced to a one-line cout << "Alice\n";. Through it all, he kept showing up and playing optimally.

Now, problem setters have taken the final step and erased his name from stdout completely. Even when Bob plays optimally across $$$10^4$$$ test cases, outsmarts Alice despite the second-player disadvantage, and clutches the game, he doesn't get the satisfaction of seeing his name printed. His hard-earned victory has been reduced to a cold, heartless "NO"—turning his triumph into nothing more than a boolean footnote to Alice's failure.

Bob is not just !Alice. He has been grinding game theory alongside her since the dawn of Codeforces, and he deserves basic recognition. I call upon all problem authors and coordinators to take this into account: stop the Bob erasure, bring back "Alice" and "Bob" to the output section, and give Bob his rights back.

Hello everyone!

I am glad to invite you to participate in MathJack's AI graded, Proof Contest #20 (Rated), taking place today, Friday, October 9, 2026, at 19:35 PKT (UTC+5).

This round features 4 proof problems prepared by Muhammad-Ahmad and M.ZeeshanRashid, with all problems focused entirely on Combinatorics. The contest duration is 135 minutes (2 hours and 15 minutes), and the difficulty is set to Intermediate. Submissions are evaluated using MathJack's AI proof-grading engine, followed by a hacking phase before ratings are finalized. You are allowed at most 15 submissions per problem and up to 2 submissions per minute.

Having more participants always makes the competition and the leaderboard much more fun, so whether you want to test your combinatorial proof-writing or climb the ratings, come join us! You can register and participate directly at https://mathjack.org/contests.

Hello everyone!

If you enjoy competitive programming and want that same adrenaline rush for math Olympiads, check out MathJack (The Olympiad Arena). It brings the Codeforces contest model straight into mathematics, hosting regular timed rounds across Beginner, Primary, and Intermediate tiers.

The contest format scales with the division. Beginner and Primary rounds are answer-based, testing speed and accuracy on computational problems, while Intermediate rounds feature automated AI proof grading that evaluates full, rigorous mathematical arguments. Contests feature dynamic Elo ratings, live leaderboards, and a post-contest hacking phase to find counterexamples or logical gaps before ratings finalize.

Most contests test the classic Olympiad quartet—one problem each from Algebra, Combinatorics, Geometry, and Number Theory—alongside occasional thematic rounds. You can explore the problem archives and register for upcoming rounds directly at mathjack.org.

Hello guyz, Today I was solving Japan 2014 IOI National Team Selection Camp Day 3 Problem Problem 1 on OJ.UZ and was shocked that I somehow managed to get 95 points where the subtasks are:

Subtasks
My First Code

It somehow gave me 95 points while this is one of the obvious cases where it will fail:

INPUT
6
JOIJOI
OUTPUT
3
EXPECTED OUTPUT
6

Afterwards I wanted to report this and looked for a place where I can give edge cases but found none on the website so if anyone knows it please let me know. And if any of the staff of JOI or OJ.UZ reads this blog please fix it.

UPD : I Found ojuz, so please fix it because it is causing so much problem as in our series of contests this puts ranks to unfair level.

Salam Codeforces,

After 18 long months of WAs, TLEs, and learning to code from scratch, I have finally reached Expert!

I couldn't have achieved this milestone without the incredible support of my mentors: Sir-Ahmed-Imran (IOI Bronze), Ghulam_Junaid (IOI Bronze), and AMnu (IOI Gold). Thank you all so much.

A special mention also goes to Muhammad-Sajjad and filliones — the teachers who guided me through the early days and took me up to Specialist.

Thanks for reading!

Hello Codeforces!

After a long period of grinding, I have finally reached Specialist. It has been quite a journey since the time I first became a Pupil on Codeforces, and then eventually forgot my password. After returning and practicing consistently, I managed to achieve Specialist in yesterday’s contest. The amount of grinding required was definitely huge, but the effort was worth it.

My Previous Account
Fun Fact

I am deeply thankful to my mentor and teacher filliones, who guided me throughout my journey from nothing to Specialist.
