Hello! As you've probably already noticed, today's DIV-1 round was cancelled. My friends and I were really looking forward to it, to finally participate in a rated contest, and we were very disappointed by its cancellation.
Don't you think it's a problem that div-1 happens once every two months? That's terribly infrequent!
In connection with this, I want to propose the following improvement to MikeMirzayanov: It's necessary to raise the maximum rating for rated participation in Div-2 to 2400. Participants with such rating rarely solve problems harder than Div2-F, so div-2 rounds are COMPLETELY RELEVANT for them, and it's strange that they can't participate in them for rating. I think such an improvement would please everyone, because CF with rounds once every two months sounds very sad.

I can't say that I relate, but looking at everyone getting excited for a rated contest and not having it for yourself sounds sad. I totaly thing this should happen so that when i become high rated, I can still give rated contests and have more fun.
Modern div2F are sometimes 3000+, which really can be used as a prelast div1 task. I agree that waiting two months for a div 1 round is terribly frustating, so something should be done.
If this happens I think we will see a couple hundred more GMs lol. Div1 problems are quite difference from div2s.
Yes, Div-1 has better quality, but we need balance. Quality is nice, but rounds once a month is too infrequent. Better to have slightly weaker problems more often than perfect problems rarely. Regular competition > perfect quality
Your suggestion does not increase the number of rounds. Stop pretending that it does. It increases the number of rated rounds for you specificially, which is totally different.
I dont hide it. I want more rating rounds, same as almast every 2100+ participant, and we need them

Div-1 is realy rare, and it is problem for 2100+ participants. My suggestion solving this problem
He means that you are not posing a solution to the problem, rather you are complaining about it.
How about a separate comp for 1900-2400 with only the D,E and F with a 90 minute time limit whenever there is a div 2 comp? I think having to do Div 2 A,B and Cs will be boring for higher rated participants.

It gets complicated because then you'd have to change the titles. It is totally inappropriate for someone with the title of master or, even worse, international master to be seriously participating in the lower divisions. In my view, someone called a master should always be participating in the highest division, especially since there are only $$$4$$$ divisions. Does it make sense to you for someone with the title of international master to be participating in the third-lowest division? It doesn't make sense to me. So I'd say that maybe CM should go from $$$1900-2399$$$ and then the higher-rated users can figure out where to put the other titles.
I don't think that it will be a fair range of division, as then Div-1, when kept exclusive, will be of 2400+ rated Grandmasters only (i.e., red coders, GM, IGM, LGM, 4000+), which leaves them a very little participant competition. And if the reason is simply to have rated contests, having more contributors for Div-1 contest problems is what could help have the existing Div-1s more frequently.
Also, having Masters and International Masters (IMs) in our Div-2 contests further pushes the current Div-2 participants to a tougher competition, which would make it tougher for them to ace them with better rankings. So, this is not a feasible solution.
1) When div-1 exists everyone with rating 1900+ (or 2100+) shoud participate Div-1, same as its now
2) performance formula is adaptive for adding any participants into round, so it will not affect on yours rating
But what the current rating system shows is that it makes the same difficult questions (e.g. CDE in div 2, ABC in div 1), But the score in div 1 was significantly lower than div 2
I think every div2 round should have a corresponding div1 round, and for those who originally don't, this div1 round will only consist of 4 problems (C,D,E,F of div2). Participants with rating in [2100,2399) will be able to register for this semi-div1 round.
That would probably make the fact that 2400 and 2900 are the same color more annoying.
Maybe have Div 2.5. Div. 2 nowadays have like 2700+ rated tasks anyways.
sounds reasonable in general but for some reason i feel it's going to make rating inflation even crazier. it would be weird if one could become a GM by only participating in div2 rounds.
