AMS (Algorithms & Mathematics Society) is building the problem set for AMS Derive 2026 and we are looking for problem setters. AMS Derive is a three-round quantitative contest circuit. The problem set is designed so that no standard DSA template is applicable to any problem. Every solution requires constructing a mathematical framework from scratch. Our opening round had 200+ participants across IITs, IISc, BITS, and UIUC. One problem had 6 correct solutions in the entire field.

We are looking for problems in any of these domains: Stochastic Processes, Probability Theory and Bayesian Inference, Market Microstructure, Options Pricing Theory, Combinatorics under probabilistic constraints.

The standard for acceptance is high. Problems must be novel, mathematically rigorous, and impossible to solve by pattern recognition alone. If you have solved 2000 Codeforces problems, that background alone will not help you here. If you genuinely understand measure theory, martingales, or microstructure, we want to hear from you.

What problem setters get Full credit on the AMS Derive problem set. The editorial and problem set are published publicly after the contest and reviewed by quant firm representatives on the evaluation panel. This is direct visibility with the people who hire for quantitative research roles in India.

So I recently saw this problem in one of the blogs and someone claimed to have solved is using brute force, so I gave it a try and it seems that this 3100 rated has weak tc. When I tried to submit using some optimisations, it got accepted (311356622). Can anyone tell any reason why is it so?

So here is the thing...

Anyone who is commenting on this post has to reach 2000 by September.

Additionally, one has to solve 3-5 problems daily (on average + (100 — 200) from your current rating) without any rest day.

My New Year's Resolution in regards to CP: - Qualify for the ICPC Regionals and get in the top 20 teams atleast.
