Hello everyone, Welcome to the era of new generation coding. (Note: This particular blog is exclusively for freshers. The purpose of this blog is to provide a simple introductory picture of coding).
Before going into world of coding, let us familiarise with some basic terminology.
Syntax — Any coding language has a dictionary like every other verbal human languages. Syntax defines the statements of a computer language. Syntax in itself is a study of how words, phrases need to be arranged to form meaningful statements. In computer language syntax provides us a pre-defined structured way to code our programmes
Let us understand the meaning of an input first. Many of you might be already aware of it. Input basically is a language aided command usually provided by users, system programmers for running programmes. Without an input there would not be an inpuyt in practical sense. However some advanced programmes and softwares are in development which require virtually no input. Some are already around us, but input conyinues to be the basic term in any programming interface.
Be it in C, C++, Python etc. input is basically represented by 'int' term. Only the way it is written (like inside curly brackets...) is case sensitive in various languages(that's the designer's way). But in Python we have no restriction (except for non caps) and we can write straightforward — input.
But here is the catch-
Input is an in-built function in almost all major programming languages, but still we need to make it clear of our intentional arbitrary variable as an input to programme or an OS we are about to run, How? Again, this is case sensitive: In Python we make it clear as — input() .
Now go to your notepad, and scribble a basic command:
a = input()
b = input()
print(a,b)
(Here a, b are our variables, = is an operator which you will soon study, input, print are in-built functions.)
Assign almost anything to it (in this case to a and b successively) and you will have your printed output in a single line as we have not mentioned it to print in successive lines. But for today that is sufficient. Successive line printing is a piece of cake if you come to know about the basic python syntax and functions.
That's all for today. Hope you will persist in your learning of basic programming.
