    You need solve more problems, and learn some algorithms and math at the same time.Solving problem ab is not enough.You should try some hard problems, like c or d in div2.

      i tried to do problem c and i was not able to do it.ive done like this in 2 months with no progress at all.all i do was trying to read the editorial.and after that there are 2 cases.one is i dont understand the editorial and i cant code it out so i look for others code and try to analyze each line with paper.second is i understand the editorial but i cant implement it without seeing others code.i actually have no idea whats wrong with me

        When I can't understand the editorials, I'll ask someone else, such as my friends or even send messages to the authors of the editorials to ask them directly. In most cases, the reason I can't understand the edtorials is some algorithms or math things I don't know, but the authors just thinking it is very obvious and everyone should know. When I can't implement it, I'll ask myself whether I know it very clearly,and write the analysis down on papers.Then I'll try to do it myself, until I really can't solve it.Reading their code is very hard for me, so I usually read editorals.

    Not gonna lie, knowing bit of math does help as can you see from my rating graph, but practicing a variety of questions and learning new topics/ideas and utilizing them during contest is also a must.

        Ehhh, it is hard to pinpoint, I used to study for my regional MO, so some number theory, combinatorics, algebra, and geometry, but I strongly believe that practicing with actual problems is way better than solely relying on math.

          i used to do math MO in primary school and went to national level.but since i left math for physics(around for 3 years),my math is kind of rusty.can u recommend me a book that can help me(im planning to qualify either IMO or IOI so u can give me math MO books or discrete math books)

i saw you doing those problems with rating of 2000 pretty good. just keep practicing and you're gonna reach Candidate Master someday. but i recommend that you should try solving more problems with rating of 2100~2300, and speed up the time you spend on those with rating of 2000. it may sound pretty difficult but also not too difficult if you can read some editorials everywhen you're, kinda stuck, right?
