On one of my comments on a thread about the LATOKEN contest, I made a decent suggestion and I got downvoted 23 times. Another person on that thread was concerned about when they will announce the t-shirt winners and he got 10 upvotes. What a joke.

Believe me or not, most of the votes whether upvotes/downvotes are cast by pupils and newbies. The reason is they just want to go blindly about their opinion based on whether the commenter is a candidate master (or above) or whether he is a pupil/newbie.
