Dear friends,
I am honoured to present you "Adolescent Grigore Moisil" (AGM) International Programming Contest (7th edition).
AGM is addressed to high school students who can form teams of up to 3 members, ICPC style. The contest has a qualification round on 20th February. The problems are set up fully by university students, medalists in national and international competitions (IOI, BOI, CEOI, etc.).
We are looking forward to international participants, especially those who want to participate in the final round (which is set to be in Bucharest, Romania, this summer, but there are chances to be held also online due to the pandemic situation; we will come with further details). You can register here until 19th February at 17:00 GMT.
Finally, I am more than delighted to present you our team: patrick.sava (the heart of the project), geniucos, average_frog_enjoyer, munteanuvlad98, Stelutzu, Alex18mai, teoionescu, bogdan10bos, carabet.cosmin, Stefan_Radu, Mihai22e, Mihneac, vreaudelftpls, eman98, GinguIonut, caesar2001, Usu and me.
Take a look at our problem-sets from the last edition:
Also, don't hesitate to contact us: [email protected]
Thank you very much,
George
Do your teammates need to be from the same high school with you?
Hello! That's a good question. They don't have to; each member should be aged between 14-21 years and matriculated in a high-school. Other than that, there is no other requirement in regards with the eligibility.
Ok, thank you!
By the way, I think George forgot to explicitly mention where you guys can find the rules for the contest. Even though it was posted what's the official website, I'll give you also the direct link to them. Enjoy! :)
Great contest! I participated at a prior edition and the problems were awesome.
What time will the qualification be?
Hello! So in theory, it should be 12PM Romanian time. This has not been yet determined, but I think you shall assume that the time won't differ with more than 2 hours than the one I've mentioned. We'll update that shortly on the official website (and please always rely on what's written there). :)
Thanks :)
According to the website, it'll be on 20 February 2021, 3PM GMT. However, it seems rather odd to me that the round will start at 1PM Romaninan time, which is 4 hours before 3PM GMT. Is this an exception for the Romanian teams?
Hello! Apologies for this mistake. So the right answer is 3PM Romanian time and 1PM GMT time. This should be now reflected on the official website as well!
Is it allowed to participate unofficially, i.e. if we are not High School students?
Hi! We will upload the contest on the GYM Section
Can I participate in a team having only 2 members?
Yes, you can
We have registered
cool! hope you will enjoy the competition
Hey guys! We've added (15) to Art.4 and modified as well (12) from Art.4. There are just 11 days left until the sign-ups will be closed.
Thank you!
Hey! What are the prizes exactly? And is there any help you are going to give to the international teams to get to Bucharest for last stage?
Hey! There are going to be cash prizes for the first three places (the sum is going to be determined soon). There are two pending surprises we're preparing for the first 3-6 teams as well (and we will hopefully announce those soon, once the deals are sealed). On the top of that we award medals and diplomas to top 10 teams (3 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze).
In regards with the support, I think we can offer an official invitation which should help in getting the visa for travelling in Romania (in case your are not from EU or other country which is having a visa-free corridor to Romania).
We plan on having food on site for the contestant and to offer to all of the final participants accommodation (again, that's not yet official in the same way the location and the contest date are not official).
Kind regards
I'm looking forward to it! When will we receive confirmation of our registration/further information?
Hey! We're delighted to hear that! As long as you've completed the form, you are registered (unless you don't get an e-mail shortly telling you that you aren't because of a disqualification from the previous edition).
We're looking forward seeing you and your team competing on 20th of February!
Patrick
Will there be an online mirror of the qualification round?
Hi! We will upload the contest on the GYM Section
sorry is there an editorial for day 1 or day 2? If there is one could you send the link? THX
We made a live editorial on google meets :(
We have just extended the registration period until 19 February, 5 PM GMT Time. Reason: 20 teams signed up in the last 24 hours
You should probably update it in the blog post as well.
yes. thank you
Hi, when are we going to receive an email with login instructions? In the rules it said that we were supposed to receive them a day before the official contest. Does that hold? Will we receive it today? Thanks :)
As just announced, you should expect an e-mail by 11:30 PM GMT time. We are going to send an e-mail to all of the team members, so keep an eye on your inbox/spam!
Auto comment: topic has been updated by george_stelian (previous revision, new revision, compare).
Good evening!
The login credentials and the instructions for accessing the platform are going to be sent by e-mail to all of the participants today, by 11:30 PM GMT Time.
Please be patient, it's perfectly OK to do not have received any e-mail by now!
Patrick
Have all the emails be sent by now or are some still left to be recieved? Also will all the participants recieve the email or only the leader?
All of the e-mails should have been delivered by now. They are sent to all of the members of each team.
Good morning, My team and me have not got ant email from AGM despite that we have followed the registration procedure.
Hey, can you please tell me what's your team?
Also, make sure to check spam/junk etc. It's possible your email provider picked it up as spam :)
I havent also recieved the email. Our team name is ez dubz
My team and I didn't get an email and it isn't there in spam as well. Team name: EzDubz. Please look into this.
Thanks in advance!
Also, it is a notorious coincidence that GeoMetrix123's team and mine have similar names. They're completely different teams.
bruh yeah lmao not even kidding but this is a coincidence. But yeah u got the dub :(
I sent you another email.
i didnt get an email. Pls check . Our team — Amaan Khan(posting since our team name is similiar)
My team name is TooLazyToCode. We haven't received any emails yet.
Sorry, I still didn't get anything. Can I DM you my email ID?
Ig all those who registered within the old deadline have got the instructions and others havent. Pls check.
If no member from your team got the email with the credentials, can one member of your team please send us a DM to [email protected] and we will manually reply with the credentials? Please use the same email address as the one provided for registration. And please state in the email message your name! Thank you very much!
Guys, there is a new batch of e-mails which was just sent. Could you check once more?
Thanks a lot . Received mine :) Best of luck to everyone participating
Hello, are we allowed to use snippets ?
Can you please ask these types of questions through the contest platform? Thank you!
The live scoreboard is here: https://judge.agm-contest.com/public
We'll present the solutions at 20:45 RO time in this meeting
https://meet.google.com/wtx-auri-zpg
Please help! I couldn't find out how to like and dislike problems. If you look at the bottom of the scoreboard you can see the amount of dislikes and likes of each problem but I couldn't vote on any.
It's not likes / dislikes, it's accepted / rejected submissions.
Thank you for the clarification! It would've been epic if we could also vote on the problems
Why downvotes? :/
UPD: fixed, my comment had about -10 votes.
Data was googleable: https://codeforces.me/blog/entry/65629
Hi! I am sorry, but I read the problem statement and I disagree. Dynamic Connectivity is googable. The problem is not. Or shall we consider every problem solved with SegmentTree as googable? Or any problem with DFS traversal googable? I mean, do not take me wrong, but I am not sure if you could solve it without some combinatorics skills. Dynamic Connectivity is just a data structure like any other, of course that people discussed about it :)
Thanks for the great contest! We look forward to competing in the final round.
I have an alternate min cost/max flow solution to Gangs if anyone is interested. The main idea is you that in one tree, a unit of flow represents having a raided node. In the other tree, a unit of flow represents having an un-raided node. You can then use edge costs of 199 and 200 (or x-1 and x for some large x) to make the flow graph prioritize sending flow through the "un-raided node tree" instead of the raided node tree.
Also, the problem can be solved rather straightforwardly using Matroid Intersection. We haven’t proved why the (complement of the) problem on one tree would be a matroid, but it passed the tests.
Thanks for the great contest! I loved the problem Complete Journey, even though I couldn't manage to solve it during contest :/
Great news! Big thanks to average_frog_enjoyer, bogdan10bos and vreaudelftpls who uploaded the problems from the Qualification Round in the GYM!
How to migrate ghosts? I pasted this link and it gives "Problems do not match: they should have exactly the same set of ids"
Our team said that they will be dealing with the ghost participants in the following days. I would assume that they've encountered the same issue.
Convert to this format and paste it to the textarea on the admin page.
Mike has some supported parsers deep inside, but it's much easier not to rely on them and prepare the log by yourself.
And even Mike is able to parse your link, it lacks the times of wrong submissions, so they will be generated randomly and can potentially ruin the contest.
Where can I find the editorial of the Final? Thanks in advance.
Hi! The editorial is not up yet. We had a video call after each final round where we explained the solutions, but, unfortunately, the call wasn't recorded. I will post here once the problems are uploaded on Gym and again once the editorial is uploaded. Many thanks!
