wonderful MikeMirzayanov !! thanks !
Our community consists not only of active participants, but also of those who participated before. The help and support of friends is very valuable. I am so proud of our community!
Sorry for my bad english:)
sag salam resoond...
Thanks Mike for this CONTEST !!!!!
Good luck everyone
Will these rounds be rated?
Sure!
What exactly is the difference between regular and global rounds? Just a slightly different format?
I think that's the only difference ;_;
Godamnit I was expecting rounds for APAC timezones
i think what is difference is the double fee and T-shirts to the authors
No major difference: we hope that extended budget will help to attract well-known writers, focus more on problems, t-shirts give more fun for participants. We are considering the opportunity to make an additional separate ranking for such competitions like Mail.Ru Cup has.
Hey MikeMirzayanov, You mentioned that it will attract setters. Can you please guide us on how one can provide with a full set of problems. I am really interested in hosting a round in CF, I also have 4-5 problems ready but if i can contribute for the global round it would be great!
Будет ли хоть какое-то отличие от других раундов?
Больше выплата для авторов, и футболки для топ 50
Турист сможет собрать 6 футболок
Will it affect the frequency of regular codeforces rounds
Will T-shirt be handedout based on your ranking?
Can 1900+ participat div2?
What if a lot of people sniffing?
"These will be common rounds"
These will be common rounds for both divisions
Sounds interesting, but how will the T-Shirts be distributed?
In general, are Codeforces Global Rounds Div.1+Div.2 combined with guaranteed T-shirts within each?
(And this means the old term "Div.1+Div.2 combined" would be merged into it, or still separated?)
And last but not least, I guess the scoring rule for CFGRs is still the Codeforces standard rule, right? ;)
With holding contests, can you also suggest good study materials for different types of algorithms or write some blog about it. I have been coding from last 4 month but couldn't solve more than 2-3 problems in division 2.
Life is hard..bro :(
Participate in contests regularly. Try to up-solve at least 1 problem that you couldn't solve during the contest. If you don't understand the idea behind the problem, learn more about it, practice a few problems related to it and then come back to the original problem. The process is slow but fruitful. Keep practising brother.
I found my twin :D
Nice to meet you brother :D
Nice to meet you bro ;D
that is common.I start to use codeforces in Jan 2018 and at my second contests I fail all the problems (2 problems are hacked in system test). So you can try to learn some knowledge about ICPC and you will learn lots of knowledge you have never learned before.Or you can just use this platform.Just use the function that you can select the problems' difficulty interval. You can try to finish problems which difficulty is below 1600.If you can practise more, you will significantly perform better in contests.
If you are just at the div2 level, then you actually won't need to worry about huge rating losses because you will just stay on the 1600 level.
not relevant but great palindrome rating graph :D
So, how did you ramp up to master? :)
codeforces is always innovative.
proud to be a part of such a great polygon.
T-shirts prize makes these rounds interesting. I am excited about these rounds.
Thanks MikeMirzayanov.
Is the current displayed time for the global round going to be the usual time?
tourist will get all t-shirts.
tourist says :"These are div3 problems, are they not?"
Contest with new name :) Is their some difference between regular and global rounds?
I hope drain would be adjusted. :P
историческая хуйня
I have a humble proposal — Let us try to make every line of CF contests distinctive in some way.
I am not sure exactly how to give each contest line it's own flavour, but perhaps we can try something like making all questions of a certain contest line of a similar type (For example, DP).
It's really great we are seeing another contest line and that this community hustles with so many contests !
Atcoder did it here. Well such rounds can't be rated.
Yes, Perhaps you are right.
Will be there even a div 3 contest?
Yet another Codeforces Round #TBA ( Div1 + Div2 + Div3 ), but with T-shirts .
div3 is a subset of div2 so your comment doesn't make any sense
But, uh-oh, it isn't a question.
Will it be a hacking contest?
Codeforces: We've got something for you...
You: *thinking* maybe they've added the Δ column in the results section, so you don't need to switch between two tabs. Or maybe even better! What if they've actually added calculation of rating change while the round is online, so you don't need the extension. Or maybe they've added language auto-detection so you will never accidentally send C++ code as Python or as Java, if you write on two languages. Or maybe they've added option to send solutions while contest is online and you haven't registered (and even if you registered it would be unranked for you). Maybe they've just removed the registration for some rounds. Maybe they've added an option to see your current submissions while they are in progress on any page (at least we have notification about the result of the submission, that's already awesome).
Codeforces: Now if a round consists of many tasks we will call it "Global"
You: *disappointed face*
I thought codeforces was perfect before reading this. How wrong I was :p
I think cf is missing an onsite competition per year, like atcoder world tour
Anyone knows how can I sleep for 3 days and wakeup when the contest starts I can't wait XD.
So it is a combined contest for both div1 and div2? Actually I don't know the format.I just register this contest and it is just one contest. If it is a combined contest,I hope the gap between problems can be proper so it can make most participants satisfied with the results.
Codeforces: announces new round name
Flat earthers: *TRIGGERED*
Edit: Wow I really do suck at jokes...
Is it because it's a new ROUND name?
No, but nice one :)
how can I get a T-shirt?
Better not be like the last contest =)
Happy New Year:)
计入rating吗?
Rating for all participate.
Thank you
What is the difficulty of this contest? Div.1? Div.2 or Div.3? @MikeMirzayanov
Div.1 + Div.2
It is actually Div.1 + Div.2 + Div.3
When I read 'global', I thought Codeforces was going to start some contests with a window-based timeframe where you can take a round for 2-3 hours in a bigger, days-long window, like other sites do. That would help users from usually-inactive timezones, and generally increase round participation. Alas, it's another sponsor-branded round...
(To be fair, I'm not sure how much harder maintaining fairness will be.)
Wow,I 'm not good at programming. So,I just think that it's a difficult competition for me. If I get three problem right,I will celebrate that.
Really excited for this new format !!!
А мне можно отправлять задачи?
Можно
А кому нужно отправлять?
2400
I think it is same as div1+div2 rounds. No changes for a participant except prizes of tshirts, which will obviously be taken away by reds. Correct me if there's something i am missing wrt global rounds. ?
On the CFGR #1 round announcement it says:
So reds won't be taking all of the shirts :P
Oh that is good to see. I missed that. Thanks!
Do you propose to give t-shirts for blues instead? Or maybe for greens?
No. I am not proposing a thing! Am just curious if there is anything new in these new rounds!
Well, I will describe the new points. So, here we have stable series of div1 + div2 rounds with same rules for getting T-shirts (new and very loyal rules, BTW), general score across all such rounds, which also can lead to prizes and increased (doubled!) fee for problem setters. In my opinion, quite a lot of changes when compared with existing rounds.
Good luck everyone
Old wine In new bottle
When does the 2023 season of GR start, or GRs are already concluded? It's April but we don't have GR25 yet.
