Hello.
VK Cup 2012 Round 2 will be held in two editions:
- official VK Cup 2012 Round 2 — for official advancers to VK Cup 2012 Round 2 and for the coders from Division 1 (them will participate out of competition),
- special VK Cup 2012 Round 2 (Unofficial Div. 2 Edition) — for participants from the second division, who is not an official participant of VK Cup 2012 Round 2.
In each of these editions the ratings will be updated (separately). In the first edition the ratings will be updated according to the results of participant of both types: official and unofficial. Ratings of the participants of both types will be updated. In the second edition it is easier — there is only one type of participants and and their ratings will be updated in typical way.
"they" will participate, not "them"
Vote for type one!!!
So division 2 people can do the official, right? (If they're in the cup)
official VK Cup 2012 Round 2 — for official advancers to VK Cup 2012 Round 2
Yes, you're right.
In the registrants page, the font size for contestants' handles is larger than usual. Is it just me?
No, I am also seeing them larger.
Will score distribution be dynamic in this round?
No, see Russian comment
I faced a lot of problems participating this contest:( It took quiet a few tries to submit one problem successfully, Getting "Requested URL could not be retrieved" and other page loading problems. Besides i can't even lock my solutions. I hope admins will consider these cases.
For Problem B Div 2. Please explain me the meaning of sentence " You are allowed to use not all elements from s".
Each element from s you can not use, or use only one time.
I've got WA too because of this sentence ... :|
Exactly I was confused with this statement. I even asked a question during the contest and got this answer: it is possible to use only some digits from s. So what I understood from this was that all digits in s cannot be used for replacement.eg: a:1234 s:9999 Then the answer should be 9994 and not 9999. But it was not so. And after failing pretests twice I found this problem.
Same was the case with me. After 2 Wrong submissions and about hour of thinking of corner case when I couldn't think of any mistake, out of frustration I submitted the code in which we can use all letters from s and finally I got AC'ed.
This was the first thought when I took a look at the standings...
Somebody could explain me how this solution pass under the 2 seconds time limit, me and another five people got unsuccessful hacks in my room (my guess is because of the codeforces server speed): http://www.codeforces.com/contest/169/submission/1412269
How can I avoid this kind of situation in the future?
