Hey everyone,

Like many beginners starting out in competitive programming, I originally leaned heavily on Python. It’s easy to write, syntax is clean, and it just works out of the box. But as problems got more complex, hitting constant Time Limit Exceeded (TLE) errors made it clear that switching to C++ was mandatory if I wanted to stop fighting the clock.

Although the C++ syntax proved to be a hurdle, it was not my only obstacle. Starting out, running a local IDE was what really tested my patience. Now that I've reached a specialist rank, I wanted to share the exact, C++ sandbox setup I use. I put everything into a clean, 23-minute step-by-step video for anyone looking to make the switch smoothly:

The Complete Video Walkthrough: https://youtu.be/3XrxkQ4lqv8

I hope you all find this useful. What the guide covers: - MSYS2 & MinGW-w64: Installing the latest, fully optimized g++ compiler (no outdated setups). - Environment Path Variables: Configuring your system properties perfectly so you never see the "g++ is not recognized" error again. - VS Code Configuration: Setting up the editor from scratch for high-velocity coding. - Compilation Check: Writing, compiling, and running your very first template to confirm execution speeds.

What's Coming Next in The CP Series: This is Episode 1 of a comprehensive curriculum I’m building on my channel, Code & Dev. Over the next couple of weeks, I will be creating more content to help beginners become pros.

If you get stuck on any compilation errors, MSYS2 bugs, or path issues while setting this up on your machine, drop a comment below with your error log and I'll gladly help you troubleshoot it here!

Good luck with your next contest!

Honestly, I've seen the post but I prefer VS Code because of its multi-language compatibility, security, and support. It is also an industry standard used by most companies around the world.

If you are downvoting, I would appreciate it if you can explain where the fault is so that I can upgrade the content.

Thx.
