I recently built a small open-source CLI called ShipOne because I kept finding the deployment part of building a project more annoying than the actual coding.

The idea is simple:

shipone

One command should take a full-stack project and get it running without having to manually configure the frontend, backend, environment variables, CORS, and deployment settings every time.

For a typical student/personal full-stack project, the workflow after finishing the code often looks something like this:

1. Deploy the frontend.
2. Deploy the backend.
3. Find the backend URL.
4. Put it into the frontend environment variables.
5. Configure CORS on the backend.
6. Redeploy the frontend.
7. Realize you forgot another environment variable.
8. Debug why the frontend cannot talk to the backend.
9. Repeat this process the next time you build a project.

None of these steps are particularly difficult, but together they become annoying.
