I'm currently trying to improve my Codeforces rating and problem-solving skills.

Should I follow a structured approach like A2Z/Striver + topic-wise problems, or should I mainly solve random Codeforces problems and participate in contests?

What would be better for someone who is still building their fundamentals?

Also, would it be better to combine both approaches? If so, what kind of practice routine would you suggest?

Just solve random CF topic based problems and participate in every cf contest (virtually and/or live) and make sure to solve many problems, which will help u in pattern recognition, +optional (solve many codechef and/or atcoder problems) and avoid leetcode for now.

do mostly random problems (slightly above your "this is easy" zone). when you learn the theory part of some new topic solve a few problems on it.
