MIDORIYA_ A name that has become almost as well known for cheating discussions as for competitive programming.
For anyone who missed it:
- Five skipped contests.
- A spot on the Codeforces cheating database since last October.
- A jump to Master after solving five problems in roughly two minutes.
- Eventually, his own blog admitting he'd cheated before.
After weeks of demanding proof before anyone could accuse him, and insisting his recent results were 100% clean, he announced a plan to end the debate once and for all:
Record his screen during Educational Round 191. Upload it. Silence everyone forever.
Bold.
Confident.
Almost inspiring.
Then the contest happened.
He solved A.Then he took over twenty minutes on B. And then...
Nothing. No recording. No upload. No explanation.
To be fair, solving only A and B proves nothing on its own.
But combine it with everything else the admission, the grand promise, the unrated registration, the underwhelming result, and the recording that simply never showed up and it starts to look like a pattern.
If you tell everybody, "I'll prove it," people expect the proof to actually happen. Instead, what happened was the opposite. The blog where he admitted cheating and promised the recording quietly disappeared. Apparently deleting a blog was easier than uploading a video. Except the internet remembers. Deleting a blog doesn't delete screenshots. And it doesn't make a recording appear.
So instead of the recording, we got Upsolve It heavily promoted as a community contribution, until people noticed how closely it resembles ThemeCP. Apparently building a website was easier than uploading a video too.
And through all of this the admission, the broken promise, the deleted blog one thing never changed:
MIDORIYA_ is still listed in the Codeforces cheater database.
Still there for everyone to see.
One more thing
MIDORIYA_ is a leading figure in his university's ICPC community, publicly listed here:

Take a look through that list.
Multiple accounts already banned for cheating. And just yesterday, one more account from that same community went from Newbie to Specialist by solving 7 problems in a single Div. 3 round.
Maybe it's a miracle. Or maybe a community that keeps producing bans, suspicious jumps, and rating miracles eventually runs out of people willing to call them miracles.
I'm not claiming this proves anything on its own. But given the timing, the history, and the company involved, it's a pattern worth a closer look.
Given the public history, the admission, the deleted blog, the missing recording, the promise that quietly evaporated, and a cheater-list entry that is still there for everyone to see this deserves a proper look from MikeMirzayanov and KAN.
Because if someone publicly promises evidence to clear their name, the least we can expect is for that evidence to actually exist.

I never said Upsolve It wasn't useful. Being useful doesn't magically make it original.
And the recording wasn't meant to prove he could solve A and B. It was meant to explain the contests that got him to Master. Funny how the recording disappeared, but so did the Master level performance.
You're overreacting honestly. He already admitted that he cheated and said he would stop, so what's the big deal?
When people started asking for the recording and blaming him, he deleted the blog and ended the whole discussion. Maybe he just wanted to see what Master rating feels like, got it, and then stopped entering contests and stopped cheating.
He's apparently happy with the Master title now. I don't see why people keep bringing up the missing recording, the deleted blog, or the fact that he only stopped after getting the rating he wanted
It's not okay to cheat even if you are doing it to reach a specific rating, you should get banned if you cheat even once, and considering his case, he should be banned but he mostly went under the radar.
I kinda agree the posts became too much, If he didn't get banned from the first he isn't going to get banned, nobody seems to care enough to ban him.
There are tons of other cheaters out there and no one is doing anything about them, you can say there is a database of them, everybody knows he's a cheater now posting more about him is a waste of time to be honest.

At the time I saw his comment basically saying that he already reached Master which is a high rank, and stopped cheating, and everyone is overreacting. Maybe that's true, maybe it isn't, but I felt bad enough to remove the blog and leave my opinion in comments instead.
Don't get me wrong, cheating is still cheating. He admitted it himself. But there are already 500 blogs, 5000 comments, a database entry, screenshots, deleted blogs, missing recordings, and everything else. If all that didn't get him banned, my blog certainly wasn't going to be the deciding factor. Apparently after reaching Master, he retired from cheating, started building a website to help people, and is grinding practice. Whether that's character development or just good PR, I'll let everyone decide for themselves.
Oh wow, he admitted it and said he'd stop? Case closed then! Incredible character development. Someone give this man a redemption arc.
Let me get this straight. He cheated his way to Master. Spent weeks calling everyone accusing him a liar. Promised a screen recording to silence the haters forever. But sure. He's happy with Master now. Great. So is every other cheater who got what they wanted and walked away clean. That's not a redemption story, that's a success story for the cheating.
"Maybe he just wanted to see what Master feels like." Yeah. And maybe I just want to see what a Ferrari feels like. Doesn't mean I get to steal one and keep it because I promise not to steal again.
The recording never came because there was nothing to record. The blog got deleted because it was easier than explaining why the proof he personally promised somehow never existed. And his name is STILL sitting in the Codeforces cheater database, unbothered, untouched, right where everyone can see it.
Oh, and one more thing. He's not just some random cheater. He's a leading figure in his university's competitive programming community. The guy in charge. And just a few days ago, someone from that same community (Adham_AlAnany)went from Newbie to Specialist by solving 7 problems in a single Div. 3 round. Multiple accounts from that same organization are already banned for cheating. But sure, totally unrelated. Just a coincidence. Must be something in the water over there.
So to summarize: the leader cheats, the community keeps producing bans and rating miracles, and we're supposed to just move on because he "stopped."

i dont get these cheaters. what is the point of cheating and going on a troublesome adventure trying to prove yourself not to be a cheater just for some rating points that are meaningless outside of this website. you gain nothing besides rating, which many have achieved by working hard and practicing, and in return you also lose the trust of everyone on this site and your own peace of mind.
It's wild that he cares more about keeping up appearances than his actual reputation. He boasted about his Master rank across LinkedIn, Facebook, and his personal website, but after getting exposed for cheating, he just disabled comments and deleted the cheating evidence.
Maybe he thinks that if he hides his CF cheating reputation and just flaunts the title then he'll get hired lmao. It's pure self-delusion.
I have absolutely no idea why he's not banned yet. Do we need more evidence? Is he being given a chance? What's the criteria for someone to get banned? KAN Vladosiya
Sadly it's not meaningless to him at all. He already plastered it on his CV, LinkedIn, and Facebook because he's graduating in less than a year and apparently a cheated Codeforces Master title is his plan for landing a job. Why grind and actually improve when you can just cheat your way to a resume line? Good luck when they test him live though.

Right, the grind never stops for our Master. A and B problems today, maybe C tomorrow — at this rate he'll be Grandmaster by copying someone else's code again.
But honestly, what's more baffling than his "skill development" is the fact that after all of this ,the admission, the deleted blog, the missing recording, the cheater database entry that's been sitting there since October , he still hasn't been properly banned. Not a reset. Not a suspension. Nothing. At some point that stops being a coincidence and starts being a problem with the system itself.
And if that wasn't weird enough, the account __Midoriya__ he was using to get solutions? Reactivated. Online just a few days ago. after deleting the blog he admitted cheating in. Like nothing ever happened. Still cheating, source account back up, and zero real consequences. Something is seriously wrong here.
