I'd practice with quality for several, several hours of the day. It doesn't have to be problem solving, learning new concepts, applying them, . . . Longest session was 13:54 hours, Have determination and will, always.
"purpose" means "why". not "how"
oh shi my bad I was really tired when I wrote it
For me, it just makes me feel excited and happy whenever I try a problem and feel like, ok this one's going to be a bit challenging than usual, but if I solve this then I have improved slightly. Though giving contests just completely drains that excitement XD!... But still seeing that AC green colour after hours of trying is what motivates me the most >_<
...
lol did you just copy past me the same question?
...
I'm just bad under time constraints... nvm i enjoy problem solving, that's what matter to me the most so its fine with me.
practice? whats that
I think it means solving a lot of problems!
Maybe it's just the feeling of finding something new, some other ways to seemingly intractable problems =))). Also, I think being good at problem-solving is essential for many things in life, and it could help me in the future =)))
Guys, support our flash mob and go to the "банда мопсоу" organization, and also put this picture as your avatar. Thanks to everyone who took part
olympiads for now
For fun
partially for icpc, mostly cause i find it fun
coz i have a lot of free time and nothing better and enjoyable than problem solving exists at this point of time for me
to show the problems i solved to my crush :penguin:
the joy of getting the little green verdict
to show others i can do it
The satisfaction that I get after struggling on a single question for hours or even for days, and then some how solving it finally through editorial or own effort and finally seeing that green "Accepted". That is my main reason for practice. The sense that with every question I practice, I am growing my problem solving skills. That is what motivates me. So, I think that is what my purpose is.
Maybe because this is the only thing I'm good at.
whenever i stop practicing, i realize life is indeed all about solving CP problems, and there isn't much else to it
to become better at it.
Because... cool techniques are everywhere!
Fun
If it can make me less stupid, I see it as an absolute win.
maybe procrastination + Undiagnosed adhd idk i just find that its fun
The Reward loop feels addictive
cause I'm a comp prog junkie, everything else has become a bit boring in comparison...
Fun
To get a girlfriend

came for the resume plus-point, stayed for the culture
theres nothing like cp, its the most fun you can have while staring at an IDE
Dopamine rush :)
Love the platform.
Practicing for ICPC and contests but I know I will keep solving even after it just for the fun of that green accepted. Kind of a lifestyle now.
I have spent lot of years doing CP maybe 6 years , still my max is only 1675 , I have 2 years left in college and 2 more ICPCs to go , for now it has become an emotional thing , so I will give my 100% to become yellow and qualify for Asia West Finals
...
it's not like i never reached 1600 , i reached 1600 long time ago , i fell down , my contest performance hasn't been good where i struggle to solve Ds in time and occasional bad contests where i didn't solve C that led to my down fall ,I personally know i have the skill to be CM if i push little harder with discipline , currently my issue is I can solve Ds all the time but can't finish on time in contest
he is rage baiting
I think you should read code of others, especially the short ones. They give you lot of ideas to code fast and motivate you to think super simple. You can try practicing in this order: do a problem => read solution => read code of others. This progress help me learn a lot in learning tricks, which is crucial in contest.
"ACCEPTED"
Love of the game, love of the community. Wanting to go to (and perform at) ICPC. It's also something I can focus on and get to (rather than procrastinate) because I enjoy it, which gives me the confidence to take on less (interesting/fun) challenges.
To feel
First, i beat one guy at the regional Olympiad, and then at the national one
Solving problems is intresting and I don't have other hobbies.
Hi. I'm interested in solving complex tasks and feeling dopamine when I solve them. You feel like you're developing when a month ago you couldn't solve this problem, but now you can. Moreover, the tasks come across interesting ideas that lead you to various reflections. It's especially interesting to solve a problem with someone. I am pleased to see how someone approaches a problem in a different way or how we come to a solution through joint ideas. It's like a challenge to myself: can I do it?
idk why
To Become Ultimate Nerd
To be good at the basics and be ready for what's coming in terms of technology.
i take it as a game where you improve and defeat better opponents and the green AC make me adictive to it also one more thing its in everything, i was at my first year at the uni when i started and its almost in every consept i learn and make my brin work harder to solve exam problems looking at everything as a problem and work as hard as i can to solve it
Just to fulfill a promise i make to myself. The reason is kinda silly but it pretty much is.
my social life already failed so this is my backup plan
To kill my fear and Accept Challanges.
For me because of the excitement when you solve something hard and learn new things from the problems
To become a better programmer
Unemployment:)
Happiness.
If you want a more complex answer, I would say I want to get better because I want to get good results at the ICPC and later a good job in the tech field. But at the end of the day, it is because I think I will be happy by doing so, and because I am happy while doing so.
to be smarter.
Fun
I do it for fun and for Olympiads
To beat Indian cheaters and hack codeforces
Added "practice" word to my dictionary. It's my new favourite word from now on.
She left me
To get higher ratings. To fuel my self-worth. To prove to myself that I am better than others.
I enjoy it mostly and feels good too.;)
I enjoy solving problems. Solving problem gives dopamine.
