Registrations for IICPC Global Codefest 2026 are opening soon. This is the first global edition of India's largest offline competitive programming competition.
About IICPC Codefest
IICPC (Intercollegiate Informatic and Competitive Programming Camp) is an academic and industry-backed organization focused on identifying, evaluating, and nurturing high-potential students in competitive programming, algorithms, and computer science fundamentals through rigorously designed, large-scale competitive examinations and camps.
We organize Codefest, a multi-stage competitive programming competition conducted across India. This year, we are opening participation to international students from 50+ countries.
The prelims is individual participation, and online for international students. The deadline for registration is 15th January, 23:59 IST.

For International participants in the online pre-lims, will there be a file upload option for screen recording on the site, or would we share the file through a platform like Dropbox?
Yeah, we will have to upload screen recording somewhere and share. They said exam is on proctored Codechef so idt there would be screen recording option on site.

was problem 8 way easier than problem 6 or have I just ruined my fluid reasoning by solving too many ds problems?
IDK I solved only first 6 and the 9th so probably it depends on your background
I found 6th to be easier than 8th, though 7th>8th imo (if idea for states in 7th, hadnt been used in insomnia before)

This should probably not be advertised as "India's largest offline competitive programming competition", considering how hard the organizers worked to ensure that qualification for the finals was anti-correlated with CP skill.
Anyway, I wish the very best of luck in particular to all the qualified IIT Bombay nerds who possess an encyclopaedic knowledge of such supremely CP-relevant topics as operating systems, networking, and computer architecture, while simultaneously being unable to solve simple d2Ds in the actual CP round. Truly, some of the CPers of all time.

I guess, it's the time to burn them up. Thank god I didn't qual the prelims to have faced such a thing in regionals.
To the people downvoting, I agree with DNR, though they mentioned regionals would consist of such topics, they should not advocate things like biggest offline CP competition, or else keep the CP format, ZIO style is okay too but please don't count in interview material for CP competition. This interview cracking mindset has made thousands of Indians as cheaters. I could write more, but maybe later.
I gave IICPC Prelims.I couldn't qualify too. That was all CP.For International students, it's eitherway just CP. But whats wrong in it if they want to keep some 25% weightage to CS Fundamentals in regionals? That was just an added extra syllabus.You arguing here couldn't even clear a CP Prelims? Also I heard that students qualified even with 0 in CS Paper if they did good in ZIO paper which is like IOI first stage for India.
IKR, but I was arguing about Indian Contest, cause I am Indian.
Ideally there is nothing wrong with it, but do you understand that freshers, school students are generally not even knowing these stuff. This is mainly used in interview prep. Either disallow school people from the eligibility or don't keep stuff like this which requires extra study, as doing CP with School and lot of Oly stuff is already very hard and cumbersome.
This is very ironical, saying you could've achieved something is very easy, while doing is that much hard. You are literally trying to say that don't care about 25% of the paper and don't blame organizers for that, maybe our feedback makes the next year more interesting to compete in.
Okay read the spoiler if you want, though I don't like to put on my losses to some stupid blames, but maybe next year things can be improved. Also not qualifying prelims doesn't take away my right of speaking for improvement of things. I might be a bit off or wrong at some point but totally not 100% wrong.
Why no local editors, I had the 4th problem solution in 90 mins after doing 1st and 2nd but there was no option to stress test and manually debugging is tough. I debugged and ACed and then switched to 3rd, I had the mod 3 solution and still failed to AC that because again some stupid bugs. No debugging, no stress testing and only a online codechef IDE to code on. If you had screen recordings, and offline proctoring, you could've allowed local IDE's without templates. But I think these can be excuses or points to take care from contestant's POV. I am also not strong enough but I really didn't get time to read P5, or further due to some stupid things, though solving 4 fast could've made me qualify.
It's fine actually. Not to stress on it. I think small CS weightage was a suggestion by firms since the exams also act as quant recruiting given their strong stats. Maybe we can ask them to do something exception for freshers and school kids. Also Like 5 students are in finals from first years so the argument that freshers are not coming is wrong maybe.
