Regarding the Discord concern, there are tools for exporting chats which you have access to — or at least I know there were, dunno if rapid
software developmentenshittification of Discord didn't break all. It's a poor replacement, Discord chat is a poor medium for explaining solutions, but at least it's not doomed to oblivion.6-7

I really appreciate your comments about discussions. In fact, I've also been thinking about this for a while. The main reason I chose to use Discord to host our discussions is the time-window feature of the U-Cup. If we were to host a public post for each contest stage — like what Open Cup does — then teams participating in later time windows would be able to see earlier discussions. Since Season 1, we use dedicated spoiler channels for each stage, so finished teams are free to discuss problems there, and the channels are made public once the contest stage ends.
In principle, these discussions could be moved to our contest system. I've already added a feature that allows in-problem discussions to be posted after a team's participation ends (like this one). But since most teams are already accustomed to Discord and have been actively using it for a long time, introducing yet another forum may not be the best idea at the moment. (I'd also like to hear voices from U-Cup contestants — do you think we should move the discussion to the contest system, like a forum, rather than using IM to discuss problems? Or should we keep both?)

Maybe we could ask the Codeforces team to add a feature to make a blog post available only after doing some explicit action? I could imagine it would be useful for gym/virtual contests on Codeforces itself, too.
This way we could keep the discussions on Codeforces and avoid splitting the community.
I would not participate in discussions if they were on some forum. CF might be ok since I'm already checking it probably every day, but Discord is much better.
I also kinda doubt that Codeforces will outlive Discord and not the other way around.
Why so? CF isn't the one who has introduced in-app currency, ads or pushed a subscription. CF isn't dependent on whims of shareholders, doesn't need to earn money. As long as the community is here, then community effort such as CF will be here.
Even more so, if there's reason for CF to disappear, then there's just as much reason for UCup to disappear and become forgotten. At that point concern about editorials' availability is secondary.
Well, if Discord goes some way, it'll probably go the way of Skype — sold and integrated into something else. The tech basis doesn't disappear, just the way it's brought to the public.
If CF disappears, the blogs are still there in the Internet Archive (example), since they are public.
Also, Discord can still be around but the ucup server can disappear (like open cup did :))
(Un)relatedly, do you know how to find archives of snarknews pages? Or does snarknews still have them?
Also do you know what is a good way to locate all CF posts? As sometimes they seem to disappear or be not visible in profiles for some reason.
I know at least there are pages for Open Cup and Petrozavodsk Camp. Not sure if other pages are still alive.
