Most people in the CS space are experiencing this. The only real ways to get an internship/job is through volume (yes, submitting even more than you already have) or connections (for example, you or someone in your family might know/have met someone who works in a tech company and who would be able to forward your resume more directly into the process; running into recruiters at events is also a form of connection and would give you higher chances).

A lot of companies are a bit hesitant to hire sophomores since they have another summer before they graduate, where there is a pretty good chance they will want to work at another company. So they put in some effort into training you for a full-time job, but there is no guarantee that you will return after you graduate. The only real solution for this is to keep applying...

Additionally, if there are any companies that are partnered with your university or maybe specific programs in the university, then they are more likely to take a look at your application in my experience. However, usually this set is pretty small. You might also want to look at some startups. Also, don't worry if you don't get anything during the fall, I got my first internship in I think February.

Just lie in your resume. Who cares if you lose 50 when you only need 1? Get a mentor for a month or two, learn the basic stack, and get a job. Nowadays it’s easier to be a middle than an intern.

CP skills are too important, but there is a catch here Before you read anything, note that I am not saying I am sooo good, I am not saying listen to what I say blindly or anything like that, maybe I have some mistakes and I would love to hear someone corrects me to be better, this is just my experience with this and my personal recommendation and I really love CP too and solved many problems even I am still Specialist :(

Can it help u earn money without knowing anything else? Yes, it can, but it will literally be only about CP or helping people pass interviews and so As well as being a Tutor for DSA courses offered by some Universities (but u will have to learn some strange things, for me I learnt a DS called Skiplist, which was very strange for me) But to be able to give more courses, you have to learn something like Design Pattern and OOP (basic level, like read a book and make some intermediate projects and this will be ez, this is tooooo ez for you btw, something like 1 or 2 weeks to be able to be a good Tutor) (Personlly, I did this and I was Newbie around 950 and I worked as a Tutor for many courses and I was able to be responsible of my home, and when my rating increased like Pupil and then more I was able to explain harder courses, which increased my income)

What about the Jobs that is about just normal Software Eng? For this, you have to balance, develop your skills in Tech and CP, you can say today I've around 2-4 hrs for CP and the rest of my working time will be for Tech or anything like that (for some it will be the inverse, but I am speaking about your case)

Why I have to do all of that, I am great at CP so I should be able to land any job, right? Not really, for example now I am developing apps, and sometimes I need someone to help me when I don't have time or to tell me the best practice in thigs that I don't know, who will be better for me, a person who is Pupil or Newbie but did already and released 3 apps a bit similar to what I need or someone who is LGM but don't know a lot about Mobile Dev, ofcourse without thinking I will pick the first one, so that's it, don't think about letting yourself be great and then tell people how great you are and what you are learning is really related to what they are doing and so, as you think about your side, think about their side, for example "I did two apps have the same problem you are talking about and I fixed them by some bla bla bla, let's talk so I can do it for you as well" or "I am LGM and you don't know how great am I in programming like I can solve 2000 rated problems without even looking at the screen, talk to me and I will learn Mobile Dev quickly and help you"

I don't say being LGM is not something really great, but if you are LGM and didn't make a single useful product, I think you didn't make a good use of your mind and skills, and again being LGM is something really great and super hard, like I am stuck at 1565 for 70+ contests so I know how hard it is to even becoming just Expert not LGM

Ok, I will balance between Tech and CP, is there anything else? Yes, there is something, be aware that balance is soooo hard, specially if you cannot control your love to CP, if your love to CP is always letting u say I will learn Tech later and continue doing CP now and go back to Tech when I become CM or IM or red or anything like that, it is a trap don't do that ever, like Pupil level and sometimes Newbie or Specialist can let you make really a lot of amazing work and money (ofcourse not very very big ones, but you can using them), so don't wait for a lot of improving in CP to start improving Tech and get money, also be careful it is sometimes very boring compared to CP

Web Scraping is something you can learn quickly and get money by through Upwork Gigs or so, btw (I learnt it in two days and got a successful gig in the 3rd day)

You should start practicing LeetCode if you want a j*b, there are a lot of interview-related problems, and people discuss their interview experiences there!

Kind of hard to give advice without knowing what country you are from. You can try reaching out to some of the other competitive programmers who work at companies already and ask for referrals. This is more effective in the start up space.

you will surely get a good job. Just make a good project of your choice which is considered as a software project by companies.
