How can you still find motivation in this game?

At the time I started CP, LLM barely solve *800 problem and most people laugh at LLM.

but now it's obviously solve ABC (like 100% of time) and maybe D, E in Div.2 within matter of minutes.

I felt delighted and fulfilled after spending an hour thinking and finally solving the problem that I couldn't. (seriously)

But now with aid of LLM it can be done like a minutes so I'm start to thinking what is the point.

I do think M still able to compete with LLM, so they have no issue but the problem is low division people.

So, I'm genuinely curious how people under orange candidate still have modification,

it feels like LLM created giant gap between somewhere at that point.

People under orange have motivation to reach above or equal to orange to outcompete LLMs and ofcourse there are a lot of people who just love solving the problems for the fun and beauty of it, anything else is a bonus.

o3 can even reach 2700+ rating. So do you mean that all lower should stop CP? Only about 200 active users have rating higher than o3 lol.

AI is not a barrier that will never let you cross the 1400 rating line. Cheaters affect a maximum of 7-8 rating points. For example, instead of getting +80 after a contest, you will get +72 in the worst case. Should this stop you in any way?

Yes, maybe it is because of them that I have 1391 and not 1400, but I just understand that in any case I am getting better, I solve problems 2-3 times faster than half a year ago, I can solve 1400 problems and even some of 1600. My progress motivates me. If I see that now I can do something that I could not do before. And with progress, the rating will always go up.

If you hold such a view, I suggest you to quit CP and try to find a job as an AI engineer

I think you should ask yourself why you are doing even CP. I do it because puzzles are fun and that's about it. If that's your reason (and it seems like it is) it shouldn't matter how good an LLM is or how good an LLM can make someone who's put 0 time into cp can pretend to be. I'm very confident that LLMs will be able to beat tourist (maybe kevin now LMAO) within our lifetimes so this whole "LLMs create a gap" thing will diminish soon.

I think the most likely endgame in terms of AI is that codeforces rating stops mattering for jobs and resumes, so cheaters stop having a reason to cheat on here. Personally, i'm ok with that future.

Rating and color is more of a title. The only thing that matters are the skills that you gain from competing. Rainboy is a great example.

Current CP scenario is like chess 20-30 years ago. LLM will soon beat the best competitors in CP someday in the future. That doesn't stop us from studying CP and enjoying it.

I would go even more than 20-30 years ago tbh. By the late 90s the best chess engines could alr beat Garry Kasparov

The whole point of solving these problems is because it's FUN. If you're tired of contests just solve problems. Why care about rating so much? If you stay consistent (something which I didn't achieve), your rating will grow naturally.
