Greetings.
Another year, and another IOI is quickly approaching. The residential IOI maniac has returned, this time with non-zero contribution to the IOI community in one way or another.
Discuss about things here. Problem solutions. Funny things. Feedbacks that the organizing committees would really be dying to know about.
Good luck, and have fun!
(Aside from the live scoreboard and problem links, so "big stuffs", other tidbits of information will be in the comments. The thread from last year looked like a mess)
You can find the daily schedule here. Note that the local timezone is GMT-4
According to the schedule, the date of the competition days will be:
Practice Session: 10:00 — 12:00 July 28
Competition Day 1: 10:00 — 15:00 July 30

The tasks (alongside with some really good writeups) can be found here

Posting this early, because it seems that most countries will be boarding the flights to IOI25 pretty soon.
Apparently the guest fee for this year is pretty cheap (650$ per person, down to 600$ if it is shared, instead of the usual 1500 euros). This might be to compensate the high cost of plane tickets? (From what I do know, plane tickets for the Vietnamese delegation is at around 6500$ per person (on total, for the initial and returning flights), which is...quite a lot)
6500 USD is very high. Hanoi-Sao Paulo on some random date seems to be around 1500 USD, and then it's another (say)500 USD to Sucre. The thing is that one needs to buy two separate tickets, otherwise the prices are weird.
Something that I think the contestants should know (this is some sort of "insider" information but it seems there aren't any issues regarding confidentiality and is probably said to most authors of the tasks submitted for the Call for Tasks): Coming directly from the ISC, this year's Call for Tasks received a "record high" amount of submissions. This is probably a consequence of the inclusion of that stinky doodoo in the IOI24 problemset which is very not funny for a lot of people and caused some very not funny things to happen — People seem to became less afraid of proposing tasks to the IOI knowing even that can get in.
This is to say that, considering the abundance of proposed tasks, it can be expected that the general quality of the problemset is high, and so is the floor for the quality of each individual tasks (not that the IOI24 problemset wasn't filled with 3 unfathomable bangers and 2 decently good problem, just that the other thing is literal dogshit)
Furthermore, looking at the past GA records: The inclusion of the 2 "much easier" tasks in IOI24 (Nile — P1 and M*saic — P5) seems to be a direct response to the "too many zeroes" issue in IOI23. While the IOI23 problemset is just.....really good, it is composed of 6 medium/hard/what-the-hell problems, which annoyed several delegations quite a bit. The "easy" tasks of IOI24 (including M*saic, whose inclusion is purely for the sake of being easy) were added to the problemset precisely in order to "fix" this issue. So, what you should expect is that the ISC/HSC really wants to fix the issues with the problemset.
(Following the above bits of information, this is just a wild guess of mine, but I personally think that the problemset of the 2 competition days will be sorted by difficulty. Last year has UCS (literally the hardest non-heuristic IOI task in the past 20 or so years, in more ways than one according to the statistics) at P4. With its deceivingly difficulty (one liner statement that seems really easy, but is actually batshit insane instead) and the placement, it has lulled many contestants into wasting several hours banging their heads onto a concrete wall. With how the organizing committees tried to accomodate for possible issues, I think that they'll try/experiment with a sorted difficulty for this year. But then, again, just a wild guess. You can believe this, but don't blame me if they put UCS 2: Electric Boogaloo at P1 and the easiest task at P6)
but sir this is wendy's
was Mosaic that traumatizing that you have to censor it xD
Shout out to PeruvianCartel's latest R18 leak. Can't believe he did this in public. Smhmh
Hour 1 leaderboards:
Generally speaking:
P1 is the "easy" task, with several ACs already
P2 looks pretty scary with the 12 subtasks, but 70pts has already been acquired
P3 got its first 72pts solution around 20 minutes into the contest. Current max is 86, from none other than mr "textsolved the constructive Div1F and won the IMO" himself
yeah no P1 is not easy (3/4 Vietnamese contestants got stuck
at 39 pts)
From what it seems, P1 is still the "easiest" in the sense that it's the easiest AC (in comparission to the other 2). Still blindsided by it though tf are you supposed to do with that.
At least it appears that the Day1 problemset is fairly balanced and consistent in terms of difficulty
two (technically 1.3) constructive tasks is really amazing to me
The last few hours has been pretty boring, but:
.....who also happens to be the first to conquer the Day1 problemset at 03:15. Congratulations
Now that the 1st competition day has ended, can anyone give out the content of the tasks?
