Help Egypt Fly to IOI 2025
By MinaRagy06, 16 months ago, In English

UPD: WE ARE FLYING TO THE IOI! Thanks to everyone who donated and all organizations that supported our journey! We got support for our international flights from several organizations and the raised money through the crowdfunding will go towards funding our domestic flights and IOI registration.

Hello Codeforces,

I, along with contee, is-this-dp, and 3omar_ahmed, am a member of Egypt's IOI 2025 team. For the past few years, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has supported the Egyptian IOI team to attend the competition. However, this year we are not receiving any institutional or government support.

We worked hard over the past year to get ready for the competition. The cost of attending the IOI for the Egyptian delegation, which includes our flight tickets, visa, and registration costs, is difficult for us to cover, especially given the current economic situation in Egypt. We have reached out to several companies to sponsor us but haven’t received any commitments yet, and as we approach the IOI, the flights are getting more and more expensive.

In an attempt to collect the money, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign.

Please donate here.

We appreciate any contribution you could make.

UPD: For Egyptians who are willing to donate, you can now donate through:

UPD 2: We have made a LinkedIn post

UPD 3: We have added a Binance wallet for countries that don’t support PayPal. Binance UID: 1045032113

Good Luck, But here is a quick tip that might help, you are asking for 13k USD in support, I suggest adding some sort of proof to where every dollar goes to, this adds some sort of legitimacy to your campaign. You can attach like an excel sheet with pictures of how much each booking would cost.

Again good luck

It’s hard to have a concrete plan right now because we don’t know how much we are going to collect and the flights we will be taking might change because flight tickets with such prices are constantly fluctuating especially given the current tensions in the region.

    A general breakdown is:

    Flights: $12600

    Visa Fees: $180

    IOI Registration: $230

However, we will be uploading invoices for our expenses if we hopefully make it to the IOI.

Here is a suggestion to attract more investors: Please provide more details on how you were selected for the IOI, and your attempts to communicate with the Education Ministry and the companies. This would make your crowdfunding campaign more transparent and authentic. Nevertheless, I wish you all would make it to the IOI. Good luck!
