I remember I had a bet with my friends about my rating. If I can't reach master before Chinese new year, I am going to leave Codeforces and touch grass.

But I won the bet just days before it. It was really close, but thanks to everyone that helped me along the way, my classmates, teammates, coaches, friends, enemies. Thanks to Codeforces, which gave me a platform to improve myself.

And wish you a high rating.

Chinese often take training on Luogu. You can find that I have thousands of accept submissions. And Chinese would rather participate school new OI contests rather than solving old problems.

Your rating has already converged. So, you need to really improve yourself. Look at your submissions, you have solved over 60 *800 problems, but only about 15 other problems.

It seems that you are not familar with any true algorithms. So go to youtube(or somewhere) and watch competitive programming lessons. And go to problemset page, solve more *1000 ~ *1400.

Don't be afraid. If you can't solve this problem, then read editorial. If you can't understand editorial, search on Bing and Google.

And find a teacher or coach if you can. Don't look at me, I don't have much spare time. A coach doesn't need to be very strong, like a candidate master around you is a good choice.

I don't know what my problem is.I feel so sad.I know most of the algorithms(binary search, bfs, dfs). But i can't solve problems.I don't know why.My confidence is broken.I feel so dumb.I don't want to quit cp.But i don't know why i can't solve problems.Even after learning topics.currently i'm reading competitive programmer's handbook .Hoping it will improve me. One of the youtubers recommended me to solve past 50-60 contests.Problem A & B.I'm doing that.As for a coaching i bought a course for cp. But it seems like i'm the only one who is so weak.My other classmates are very good at math.So there rating grew rapidly. But i was always bad at math.I don't know what to do.I'm restless. In nights i can't sleep because of anxiety. Some one say solve 800 rating problem but they are too easy.Someone says solve a20j ladder or c20 ladder. Some say solve tle -31 sheet. And now the advice solve past contests 50-60 A & B.I'm restless .I don't know what to do. I'm old(23).Never heard of competitive programming before last year.Bought a course .But i didn't improve.I know i'm venting. But please someone someone anyone show me a proper path.I'm tired of not improving. I know i'm dumb. But at least there should be a way for a dumb person like me too improve too. Please help me.You just tell me what to do.I will do exactly that. Should i keep solving A&B past contest questions or start solving 900-1400 question(most of them i will not be able to solve,so i will have to read editorials.).Please reply

Hi bro, first of all, don't be so hard with yourself, it's okay feeling that u are not good enough, but this could help, in my opinion, u should enjoy the process, one of the most important things on cp is having fun, i know that it can be frustrating feeling stuck, but even if your progress is low, u are imoriving every single day, even if it's slowly, and now, i'll talk abt one thing that could work for u, before trying any thing you should be good at bruteforce, obviously, bruteforce isn't enough to solve a problem cuz of tl, but anyways i think that mastering bruteforce should be the first step, so for each problem, u can start thinking about a bruteforce solution, and then try to optimize it finding patterns or properties of the problem, another think that i recommend its to make ur own testcases and solve them manually so that its easier to notice for those patterns, and the last tip, its to simplify the problem as much as posible, the statements usually have unnecesary information, making the problem to seem harder than it actually is, this worked for me when i was trying to achieve pupil so hope it helps, and please remind that its okay failing, dont feel dumb neither sad for that, its okay, the most important part its trying to improve.

Have a good Day bro :)

I am not sure how to get out of here. If you really need tips from me, I think you can just keep striving like you are doing now. Maybe solve the next problem which you can't solve after contest is helping.

(Or you could try the other extreme: take a rest for a month? I'm not sure.)

Congrats! Would you say there are any data structures/algos that are necessary to reach candidate master/master? I struggle with div 2D problems and I'm not sure if it's worth it to learn things like DSU/segtree or if I should just keep solving more problems.

All of them. I mean, all. Everything you can see in a normal *2000 is nessesary.

Well actually not if you can predict which rounds has a huge gap between easy problems and hard problems and solve easier problems faster than most other guys.
