Inspiration
In late 2024, Ayush and I were wondering what could be done next to improve the Competitive Programming Culture around us. That is when we realised that India is very short of good quality competitive programming contests. The last India specific large contest we had was CodeChef Snackdown which was unfortunately discontinued.
With an aim to have more exciting and enriching contests in India, we decided to host CodeFest, and we are very happy that we along with the team are here today to invite you for the same.
Details
Codefest is a 3 stage Individual Contest:
- Stage 1 (Prelims) : To be held on Codechef on 12th February 8pm IST
- Stage 2 (Offline Regionals) : 2 Multisite Regionals to be held across 8 IITs.
- Stage 3 (Grand Finale) : To be held in Research Park IIT Madras on 5th April while 6th April 2025 is booked for recruitment round for the firms interested in students through an interview process.
Note : Accomodation for Regionals would have to be managed. For Grand Finale, we have booked good accomodation for all the finalist. We recommend you to pick your closest Regional Center as preference in the registeration form.

Let’s make competitive programming bigger in India!
Great initiative
Coming to finals :)
So excited
Great initiative. Excited for the contest!
excited!
Great initiative . Hope to get into Regionals
Amazing initiative
I am following these guys since IICPC has started. These guys are really doing a very good initiative in India, by promoting competitive programing. In India, CP is not very famous among people. These guys are increasing the culture of competitive programing in India. In India, I have found only 2 good organisms teaching high level CP, one is TLE Eliminators and other are these guys. However, TLE Eliminators course is very very expensive. Also, only available for 8 months after purchase. But these have provided premium content free on YouTube and also helping students to connect with companies like Citadel, Jane Street, etc. Hat's of to you guys !!
Pls don't compare them with TLE Eliminators . It's a crime . These are brilliant IIT grads and to be compared with ICPC to be least.
I don't mean to disrespect the people at IICPC. I am just telling about two organisations teaching CP in India which I find are good. I have always found IICPC better than TLE Eliminators. I am sorry if that didn't come in good way. Again, I am just a neutral person sharing my perspective and not biased towards someone.
Excited to be the part of
How do you plan to handle cheating for the prelims. In the recent Enigma'25 Cybros LNMIIT there was a lot of cheating. Since there are job opportunities in this a lot of people will try to cheat and even unfairly quality for the offline regionals taking spots from deserving people. Ofcourse cheaters won't do well in the offline regionals to qualify for the finals but we cannot expect such reasoning from sub 70 IQ losers.
I am mainly worried about high rated people like the Abhipsita Das sharing code with others which might lead to cheaters flooding the rank list. I don't think online prelims is a good idea for this reason.
oh yeah. Something similar happened in ICPC. So many cheated to qualify and couldn't even solve a single question in regionals. It's better if every single round is offline.
Unfortunately thats not feasible. But yeah, low IQ scums are gonna cheat because its the only option they have. Even when they know they will get fucked over in regionals. They are gonna put "IiCpC ReGioNaLiSt" in their resume similar to how they put "IcPc ReGiOnAlIsT".
Individual contest right?
Waiting!
hoping to be in regionals atleast :)
same

Let's go.
Really excited
Good Luck!
Great initiative
Eligibility??
This is going to be awesome!!
Is it only for students? Are international participants eligible?
I think this is just for Indian students. They(IIT grads of India) are making an ICPC of India.
We didn't know the contest would generate this much interest. This year unfortunately we wont be able to have it open for international participants mainly because we don't know the complications of hosting international participants and we want to provide the best experience. With that being said, next year definitely we can try to have some dedicated slots for international participants.
But we can't let talent go empty handed. So we are announcing top 5 prizes for international participants in prelims:
