Upsolve more and more. Give Contests regularly. Practice Problems +- 200 of your rating. In your case (newbie), practice problems till 1200 — 1300 rated problems. Focus on these topics :- Maths, Greedy approach, STLs, Implementation and finally, Binary Search On Answer. Though, I am not pupil currently and still a newbie but these things worked well for me !! Just Be Consistent.. Don't be demotivated by low performances. Rating Is Just A Number. Focus on your Problem Solving Skills

pick a rating where problems are challenging for u , but not too hard , like +200 your rating , if u feel it's easy move on , solve 60+ problems in a certain rating , then move on to the next , try ur best to solve that problem without looking at the edi , if u are stuck ask a friend if there's something u don't know , if there is , learn it than come back
