showing unrated participation in contest

hello guys i have just given codeforces round 974. I had registered for the contest 3-4 hours in advance.Now after the contest ended, i went to my profile to see my contest rankings but it is showing that i have participated as an unrated participant in this round. I am not sure what to do. I am a beginner at this platform,so i dont know what have i done wrong while registering to become an unrated contestant. please help me

Its most probably because you registered in that contest as an unrated participant, as the round had 'Unrated allowed' you probably missed checking in the 'participate as rated' and registered as an unrated participant so that might be the case. Some contest allow unrated participants so make sure to register as rated to get rating changes.

Im guessings its because the contest isnt over & scores havent came out yet. So its temporarily showing as unrated while the contest finishes up

    i am so sorry, i did not know about this. Actually i have just started using codeforces so i dont have much knowledge about what should be done in cases like these.

Bhai how did u got rid of this problem . same happened with me . What to do how to change it ?? Will it happen in every contest ??

Same happened to me in Codeforces Round 998 (Div. 3). It's so annoying. I think they keep the registration unrated by default and we need to separately specify our participation as rated while registering. I hope they can change it to rated participation by default and unrated by choice.

    No bro. I also participated in this contest, and in the announcement section it is showing that the rating will be updated later on. As for keeping users unrated by default I don't think that's the case because when I registered for this contest it showed nothing about being an unrated participant or not.
